LEO's are trained to stop the threat. Unfortunately, they cannot assume that if they just wound the individual then that individual will just immediately drop their weapon and then give up. It is tragic that it had to end like this, and I feel deeply for everyone involved in this horrific event.
There are small independent bookstores within a short drive as well. I know that Books n Things in Norway is a great little store ( I shop there quite often ). It would be a shame if Waldenbooks were to close, as it is one of the stores I do pop into when I do make it to the mall.
It truly upsets me that someone would do this. My grandfather served honorably in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and his name appears on the plaque of those who served. I hope that whoever did this is caught, and punished appropriately. Unfortunately, they will probably plead it down to shrimping without a license given the state of our criminal justice system in this State.
If the seat backs are too high for her to see to back up, then maybe she should drive a vehicle that she can safely use. What if that had been a child instead of a police cruiser.

Headline
Please tell me that the newspaper went out with "graduate" spelled correctly, and not spelled as "gradates" like it is in this headline.
