It seems like this countrys attitude about our countrys returning service men and women from duty serving their country isn't any better than it ever was.A President whoever is in office sends our sons and daughters off to war in a foreign land to fight imposible odds sometimes to keep and preserve our countrys freedoms. Are we grateful and thankful as a nation for what they have done and been thru.I wonder?I served in the military for only four years, never went over seas to fight in a war.So i have no knowledge of what those returning service men and women have gone thru while on active duty during a war.It just seems like this countrys government should take more responsibility in caring for our returning service people from overseas battles.Making sure they get the help and care physically and mentally for what ever is wrong with them.
Justin Crowley-Smilek went into the service on his own as a volunteer not drafted like i was back in 1967.Being a volunteer in todays military seems very honorable to me.I have alot of respect for those that volunteer. It says something about the person as to what they are like. You can see the opposite of what i don't like hanging out on many streets day and night in most citys across this country.Young men and ladys 18 thru 25 with nothing to do with there time.Yet here's this young man who goes into the military serves his country and comes home with problems he never faced or had to deal with before. How does it all end,he gets shot and killed in a small maine town.Did he have a suicidal urge to end it all this way?I don't know, does anyone?Whatever reason or reasons he had for doing what he did no one will ever know.I don't know the officer who did the shooting or know how he feels about what happened. It just seems like more could have been done to help Justin Crowley-Smilek with his problems rather than have a situation turn out this way.
What is a police taser gun for or due they not use them anymore? Why such a deadly result when perhaps a taser gun could have been used to take the man down to arrest him?Maybe the farmington police department do not have taser guns to use?Again, why not? When it could have avoided killing someone if there was another way to use deadly force to disarm the man?Of course the officer will be justified in killing this man but it seems to me a taser gun could have been used on him first, than kill him as a last resort.
