Obviously some people just like to spread rumors and half truths. I was in the parking lot and saw the incident. It was not Ivey doing the pushing and it was not Ivey that the 2 police officers grabbed.... it was the elderly man that was doing the shoving with his wife striding along with her big mouth going. So get the facts straight. Ivey could have pressed charges but didn't, just asked the officers to get them both out of there.
Taxes will be going up all right but not because of this incident, it will be the the State reduction in grants (homestead exemption $) to the municipalities and the removal of a large percentage of the fee collection for auto registration.
It is obvious to me that the people that are supporting the troubled 2 are only doing so because one way or another Jackson did something for them. Like R Kenaugh who still has his garage in the middle of a road, and A. Bancroft whose business got a loan from the town business development fund.
It's just possible that there were good reasons that Jackson's contract was terminated but these "people" just don't wish to see them. We need a new direction for sure and maybe its one where these big mouths keep their voices quiet and listen for a change.

And before I forget, let's be accurate, the town's did not enact any new By-laws only the the Solid Waste Board can enact By-laws. That article is so full of inaccuracies it should not have been printed... but then again we would not have had a good laugh.:)
