hey, john....do you realize that the "prisoners" are locked behind bars? I think the bigger deal is people like yourself are using your lifes history of being picked on to stand up for some kid who was smiling and laughing the whole time. Anyone who has been part of a team will realize that this kid was doing his part to bond with the older guys and take his licks like everyone else has had to do. The only issue here is that officers who stand in the line of harm when you duck and cower are being tarred and feathered without all the facts. Liberals! Why have jails in the first place if you have a helpful neighbor?

Thanks to all who join me in supporting the men and women who brave each duty day risking their lives to save people like us, Dave and Auburn's City Councilors when they need it most......no matter how ignorant they are. Please call your local councilor, or the city's manager directly to voice your frustration with this decision. I know I will!

I would dare say that the original call made was routed to a state police dispatcher first along with "triangulated" coordinates for the caller. Even though callers may state where the emergency is, rarely is it accurate. I think that perhaps automatic aid agreements between towns and counties could have prevented this tragedy. Say Franklin SO gets a call for a structure fire, confirmed or not in Carthage. Carthage, Weld, Wilton and Dixfield should all be dispatched automatically, regardless of county lines. To often still towns DO have territory issues caused by selfish fire chiefs and town officials. This has been and will continue to be detrimental in the preservation of property and life when dispatchers aren't given permission to "go ugly early". This means that until the emergency is proven to be minor or non-existent, call as many agencies as possible! They can always be canceled. I know I'd rather have the right amount of responders coming with the right tools immediately, instead of having to wait! Maybe I'm the only one that really likes my "stuff".

It's absurd to believe that these "energy drinks" should be held to the same standard as controlled substances that alter the mind or enhance the performance of student athletes or students as a whole for that matter. What next? Are we going to ban coffee machines from the teachers lounge? That will go over like a shark in a swimming pool! Do I think that kids ought to be drinking these drinks? Hell no! But...I don't think that they should be suspended or even expelled for it! The focus should be put on education to both the students and the PARENTS! Yes, I said it. How about putting more pressure on the parents to do what is right for their children? It's crazy to even be discussing this in this forum. Tell me the school board's time isn't overshadowed by more important topics such as creating an appropriate plan that eliminates penalties from the state for not creating a citizen sponsored consolidation plan.
