if i have more 'disagree' points than 'agree'-i guess i'm doing my job. =]
i can honestly say that within the past few weeks-it has been truly the hardest time in my life... with losses of loved ones. my heart is heavy and hurting. they are all on my mind every single second of everyday... x
i pretty much live a simple life. i despise drama... i don't know when and where it was written that it was ok to talk about, judge, point fingers at, and ridicule everyone. they say misery loves company and i have found that to be more than true. and sometimes posting on sj people can't respect you as a person and respect your opinions whether it be as a commenter or someone in the article. all too often too many are quick to condemn and hold fault to a specific town or even sometimes the victim all the while lacking compassion for another human being. if they disagree-rather than just simply stating their opinion about the story or at the very most having a good, decent, dignified debate-they have to bash, call names, swear etc. which is unfortunate. it definitely takes the pleasure out of being able to enjoy sj's posts/stories and being able to respectfully post yourself and respectfully express your opinions freely especially about things that you are passionate about. i must add that many are too quick to judge without taking into consideration what life experiences you may have had to endure or say things in attempt to a low blow and they are wrong-like what party you are(n't) or if you do or do not have kids, doubt if you KNOW the person or not, etc. basically trying to make it personal in an attempt to bash. i can respect other people's opinions, thoughts, beliefs, even religions... but it seems as though not many can do the same. this is why i have a problem with sun journal and rarely go to their site anymore or check their postings because there is lack of controlling rude comments to others. using comments like 'infantile brain' to what have you... to people making comments specifically towards another person because they choose to pick a fight with someone... BUT if someone writes in CAPS-all of a sudden its improper etiquette, to not do so. i have been at fault at this the other day and i have to say i am not proud-i knew better to not come to sj because my emotions to recent stories are personal. i am sorry, but i have to express my frustrations with sun journal for not keeping up on this kind of stuff. i don't want to read or see another human being-being disrespectful and hateful towards another. there is good debate then there is bashing and its not right. unfortunately yes-sj has to monitor peoples comments to make it pleasurable for other people who want to enjoy sun journal. i just can't believe the majority of those who post on sj's site or fb page and what they say to their fellow neighbors. every single little thing that we do or say in life shapes and portrays us. if i was to call someone 'stupid' or 'idiot' or 'infantile brain' or 'uneducated' or swear or call names or degrade then that would only make me look that way... right? please sun journal, please keep up on this. maybe write a waiver paragraph before comments on your site that is big enough for everyone to see. i like sj don't get me wrong-but this has been getting out of hand for a long time now. so if you're trying to come at me with drama, hateful names, bashing, belittling... that is not respectful and i don't have time for it. you can say any hateful, mean, crude remark you would like to-to attempt to use me to take your aggressions out on and it won't bother me a bit and i won't bother to reply. now if you're an adult and want to object to my views or opinions-I am more apt to listen to someone who can explain their view rather than making pop shots. you just may change my view on things. i am very open minded and very curious on other people's views. i have a very near and dear bestie and we debate allllll the time-but what i love about our friendship is that we can talk about it and not carry the heavy debate any further than that. i love that about our friendship. i found out in life that misery truly does love company and negativity is poison... as well as that we are all the same... human beings... with different dreams, goals, and aspirations, walking different paths in life... but essentially we are all the same... with similar thoughts/feelings/emotions and will go through similar life experiences/growths/losses... be kind to your neighbor.
i talk to everyone from all walks of life. i treat everyone equally... no one is superior to another. i am not moved by someone's money or fame. i don't care what 'class' they are (lower/middle/upper). i don't have to surround myself with people who think that they are all that and a bag of chips or surround myself with people of higher standards (whatever that may be) to make myself feel better (than). i don't care if someone is on welfare. i don't care if someone has been prosecuted, even though when it has been some of the most horrific, unthinkable acts. i don't care about someone's sexual preference. i don't care about someone's color. i don't care about what they are wearing or what they're not wearing. i don't care what they do or don't do for work. i treat everyone with the same dignity and respect as the next person. at the end of the day... we are all the same. no matter how much someone wants to deny it.
i try to think positive, see the brighter side of things, try to see the good in people even though they may have made some mistakes (cuz we all know that we are not perfect ourselves). i have faults, i am a human being-but that is the greatest lesson in life... to improve and be better 'selves'. life has definitely been a learning experience and i am grateful to have met, converse, even debate with people who have made an impact on my life or views. we can all learn a little something from everyone. i am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason... to teach us, teach us to cope, or teach us to be better 'selves'.
there are many issues that i am compassionate about. but i would have to say that mental health, kids, elderly, and the environment would be the runners up for me. i am a firm believer of no cell phone use (talk/text/or speakerphone) while driving. i am against domestic violence, child abuse, bullying, animal abuse... again-another thing that i am scrutinized on sj about. i will tell you in all honesty that i've been there. its not pretty. if i can continue to be a survivor rather than a victim by standing up for what i believe in-even if i am scrutinized-i am more than ok with that. not to mention the conditions that i've received dogs in... just horrendous. however, nurturing them back to health, good behavior, and vet visits are well worth the outcome. my causes and dogs give me a greater inner satisfaction... about who i am and what i am about as well as those closest to me know who i am and what i am about... and that is all that truly matters, i suppose.
my number one passion is dogs. i rescue dogs and re-home dogs. i am a proud momma (of dogs) as well. dogs are my passion. i love my animals. i really couldn't see my life being any other way. i am heart-broken to know millions upon millions of dogs are being cruelly bred and millions upon millions of dogs and cats are being euthanized because no one can take them in. PLEASE neuter and spay your animals so this does not end up being their fate or their off-springs fate. i would like to let people know that i rescued my dogs or they were rescued and given to me, and have never paid for any of them. all dogs need the love, attention, and right training and the right dog/breed to fit your lifestyle and home. i will continue to rescue dogs and re-home them. EVERYONE should. DOGS AREN'T DISPOSABLE! IF ANYONE FEELS THAT THEY CAN'T HANDLE THEIR DOG THEY CHOSE TO OWN, THEY ARE NOT TRAINING THEM PROPERLY! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do right by them and at least make sure that you've put in the EFFORT to correct whatever it is that you are having an issue with. dogs are only as good as their owners! i know this first hand from experience at a younger age. the results ARE devastating. dogs are like children, and i would hope that no one would dispose their children, like they feel they are able to with a dog. becoming an owner of a dog is a commitment for LIFE!

i think its a great statement
i think its a great statement without really trying to promote reusable bottles. when we are use to doing things they just come naturally. the benefits of drinking water that is not bottled in plastic that is nearly not biodegradable by all means far outweighs any personal risk as opposed to the environmental risk. it was great to be there for support for you craig and congratulations!
that is just so amazing to me
that is just so amazing to me what happens behind that scenes... that many probably don't give a second thought to about these creatures so big and so small. amazing.
this was my first
this was my first inauguration that i've attended for mayor and city council. it was great to be there as a support to one of our own. although i do not share the same views as the mayor, i am still interested in what is going on in the community. there is no way we can advance if we do not work together on issues or be heard if we're not there front and center. cayers speech was quite moving... and he is right re: diversity. its great for me to get involved and be involved in a city that i love so much, that i see that has so much potential, and i city that i call my home.
