Love the comment by Steve DiMillo! He's absolutely correct. Let's stop trying to be "first in the nation" with "historic" and "unprecendented" regulations...they aren't always a good thing, despite the use of those now overused words.
Nutting is a bully. Remember his treatment of the hospitals when they dared speak out against the State for not paying the bills it owed them? Now, he's engaged in character assassination of someone who seems like a fine young man, whether or not I or others agree with his opinions. If I were in Nutting's district, I would have relished voting against him; I say thank you to the 70% of those voters in his district that did so! Finally, one of the entrenched Dems gone. I saw Nutting's ad in the weekend SJ in which he was "thanking" his supporters; it was pretty pathetic. Good editorial SJ.
Deb Simpson. Peggy Rotundo. Margaret Craven. Dick Wagner. While I'm sure they are all nice people, they have been in the Legislature for FAR too long and, along with other revolving seat Democrats, have helped bring our State to the sad condition it is in today. Borrow, tax, spend...calling all spending an "investment", which most of it clearly is not. This State has got to reduce its spending and lower taxes (and regulations) to attract businesses that offer good paying jobs and benefits, which will allow citizens to have a higher standard of living. This will be a huge challenge for the next Governor and Legislature as they grapple the underfunded State employee pension system in addition to the always-present, never-ending State budget problems. A final point: how has the constant re-election of Simpson, Rotundo, Craven, and Wagner helped L-A? I have never seen any great benefit to our area because of their seniority in the party that has ruled this State for the past 40 years.
