Thank you to Josh Wojcik of Upright Frameworks. My Monday morning mission was to find where exactly this house is located and ask these folks if I could plastic their windows. I am overwhelming impressed by the out pouring of generosity from not only Mainers but from other states as well. Sometimes it takes only speaking to the right person to get some much needed help. I would also like to thank Ike Libby. He is one of the most caring, generous people I know. He has helped my family out more than once by bleeding the furnace for free and showing me how to do it, delivering and giving me time to pay and sending the repair company when needed. Hats off to all who have helped!! Now, to see if these folks need any other assistance.....Just because I believe in Pay It Forward.
I'm sure there was at least one more involved in this one.... Unfortunately my family has had a legal 'run in' with this kid. Some people never learn any lessons. This person chooses to NOT be a productive member of this society.
Town of Livermore at it again.... Always trying to get something for nothing. I wasnt surprised to see the same people running the town since I have moved away....
HOWEVER.... you want to bus kids from WHERE? I went to Mt. Blue. The freshman were not there when I graduated. Grades 10, 11, 12 attended. They were, and still are, bussing kids in from Weld, New Vineyard.... far reaching towns. Kids from Weld got on the bus (a high school student mind you) at 5:30 in the morning to make 8 o'clock classes. Got ON the bus.... not got up, but ON THE BUS. When I lived in Brettuns (just outside of Eat Livermore), my 4th grader had to get on the bus at 6:15 to get to school by 8. (that was the first year SAD 36 tried what they called the "Dirigo Bussing Schedule") At what point does practicality take over? Do you want your little 5 or 6 year old, living on the outskirts of Buckfield or Sumner to have to get up at 5 or 5:30 am to get on the bus by 6??? Tom Ward was the Principal from my alma matter..... I think he did an ok job... Now my kids go to school here at Dirigo and I was GLAD to see him as Super. If you dont like what you are refering to as "duplication of services" I am sure that the State of Maine would gladly "refund some of your tax dollars because you do not have a school aged child" (that is a widely heard statement among Baby Boomers). The public in general complains that children graduate from EVERY school in the U.S. EVERY year that cannot read or write on an accurate grade level; some not at all.... yet that SAME public LOUDLY complains when they have to pay school taxes.... I dont get it.... PUBLIC SCHOOLS= DANGED IF YOU DO, DANGED IF YA DONT.

Seriously mister.... do you know what the components of Pepper Spray are??? No human in their right mind would "use this to spice up their food". The ingredients are NOT all natural nor are they intended for human (or animal) consumption. Do a little more homework before you go ranting off about law enforcement. My father has been on the force for over 36 years, so I do have some back ground info to rely on here. Just because we, Joe Q. Public, are hearing about this now does not mean it was JUST reported. The whole legal process takes time (thusly called DUE PROCESS) and more than likey was reported to a lawyer around the end of their incarceration. You, nor I, know the history of these criminals, what their charges were or under what pretense they were there. Here are some facts I found in a quick search on google (just so you DONT think I am making this up)...
"In the state of Maine, criminal usage of pepper spray or similar products is a violation of law, however usage of said products for self-defence as well as possession are legal".............Pepper spray is banned for use in war by Article I.5 of the Chemical Weapons Convention which bans the use of all riot control agents in warfare whether lethal or non-lethal. In the US, when pepper spray is used in the workplace, OSHA requires a pepper spray MSDS be available to all employees ............Some "triple-action" pepper sprays also contain "tear gas" (CS gas), which can be neutralized with sodium metabisulfite (Campden tablets, used in homebrewing), though it, too, is not water soluble and needs to be washed off using the same procedure as for pepper spray............Like Tasers, pepper spray has been associated with positional asphyxiation of individuals in police custody............The US Army concluded in a 1993 Aberdeen Proving Ground study that pepper spray could cause "Mutagenic effects, carcinogenic effects, sensitization, cardiovascular and pulmonary toxicity, neurotoxicity, as well as possible human fatalities. There is a risk in using this product on a large and varied population..............."The effects of pepper spray are far more severe, including temporary blindness which lasts from 15-30 minutes, a burning sensation of the skin which lasts from 45 to 60 minutes, upper body spasms which force a person to bend forward and uncontrollable coughing making it difficult to breathe or speak for between 3 to 15 minutes."
For those with asthma, taking other drugs, or subject to restraining techniques which restrict the breathing passages, there is a risk of death. The Los Angeles Times has reported at least 61 deaths associated with police use of pepper spray since 1990 in the USA,[5]. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) documented 27 people in police custody who died after exposure to pepper spray in California since 1993.[1][6][7] However, the ACLU report counts any death occurring within hours of exposure to pepper spray. In all 27 cases, the coroners' report listed other factors as the primary cause of death, though in some cases the use of pepper spray may have been a contributing factor.
............. let me know when I have given you enough info.....
