I hope Ms Gerry"s proposal succeeds. We are losing neighborhood.important historical identities. There are some really interesting ones out there. This is a good start.
You are absolutely right D. Taylor. In you own neighborhood there are some fabulous apartments that just need live-in investers and a little refubushing. It can be done!
That the toys bought for the kids are NOT made in China. This would only exploit Chinese families. That,to me, would not be in the spirit of Christmas.
What Roger Cyr said... You can sign up with Th Sun Journal Online and leave me a private message how to get in touch with you,and Roger if he is interested too Or just call the Sun Journal and ask them if they would hook us up ( they"re a nice bunch...)
A very good decision has been made. Hopefully other churches will follow. Being shunned by Christians is wrong. Nice to see the faithful thinking for themselves. That's why God gave us a brain!
My husband and I have a food budget of 240.00 a month, cash,no food stamps and do very well. And I don't bake! What's wrong with this picture? And we eat well! A store like Safe a lot might not have all the name brands but the food is very good quality, isn't Blackies still downtown? His veggie prices are vey good How many friends are you feeding?
Just when I thought I would have a nice quiet Sunday, relaxing with a cup of coffee, chores all caught up with, reading the newspapers...and then I read your column. Thanks for getting me going! We have most of these issues in my home. I was single for a looong time, then I met and married the most wonderful guy EVER!...But I have gotten into the habit, instead of confrontation over these issues,I just grind my teeth! To the point my dentist now advises me to get an apparatus to protect my teeth from further damage. He thinks I grind them in my sleep! HAH!I've never heard this one before, but this is in my home...My husband flosses his teeth faithfully...in front of the bathroom mirror. Have you ever tried to scrub dried on projectile mouth crap of your lovely antique beveled looking glass...ALL THE TIME! It's killing me slowly...
This sould be a reqirement in ALL schools. When a child does not do well in school sometimes the child is put in the category of a poor learner. Maybe the child gets little or no education encouragement at home. Home visits would maybe give the teacher more insight into that.
I was home on my day off and was watching CNN when there was a report of a fire at the Twin Towers. I called a friend and told him about it and he turned on his TV,just as the second plane hit. He said "This means war." Later that morning the seriousness hit home when the van dropped off my husband. They had shut down BIW. Life in the U.S. has not been the same since. For the first time I started really paying attention to world events.
Had rabbit legs on the grill years ago, they were really good. Nice to know where to get them locally. I'll bet the pies are good too. Dinner next Sunday!
For doing exactly what? That alone is very fishy. And why did they stop paying volunteers in food? I know several folks that that alone helped and gave them a bit of dignity. more of a hand up that a hand out. I'd also prefer to pray before being given food than praying because I did'nt have any.
Did'nt make this but have seen this guy perform before.L/A's hidden music gem. Do yourself a favor and catch him locally. Pretty amazing on harp and drums too!
I think Lois Snow-Mello is working with the fishermen. Also, how do people pay their child support if they can't get to work? Gotta look at the WHOLE picture...
Tron, In my experience, it has always seemed to me that non profit executive postions were mostly Democrats. Not that my question was directed towards politics.
Pretty harsh letter to Sunspots. This is the most informative part of the paper and has been pretty helpful to others over the years. Give Sunspots a break!
I have to agree with you. Perhaps my mind does get off track due to the side effects of the only medidication for chronic pain i suffer.that my doctor can legally prescribe. It's not oxycodone or hydrocodone which I have avoided for years because of it's inherent issues. The mediation I use has far less of a street value but does have nonetheless; a fogging effect on my brain which is not pleasant. I am not pain free and don't expect ever to be, but marijuana has the capacity to take you away from it,or so I'm told, but the cost of getting through the governmental red tape to obtain it it just crazy for something you can grow yourself.
Medication only people with lots of extra cash will have the privelege of using.Pay 300.00 dollars for a special doctor (only one who will give you the golden ticket in this region that I know of),return every 3 months at 100.00 dollars to have a "theraputic relationship" with him,and pay around 400.00 an ounce for your medicine. How is this helping the elderly on a fixed income who have a lot of the ailments reqired to obtain this? If this is trully helping people, why is it only for the elite? LEGALIZE IT!
Was there last Monday. Terrific people and the food was worth going back to try other, not so familiar, items on the menu. Great addition to L/A with very affordable prices!
I'ts a weed' The government will be making about 150.00 per ounce over current street prices and it's no better quality. The goverment might argue that it's pure and nothing bad would be added that we don't know about as the medicine manufacturing will have the best govermental quality standards They said that about cigarettes. Just legalize it.
The Church cannot contribute 150.00 a month? They owe it to the people who built it who were refused help and support during the shoe strike of 1937 by the church the they built along with the mill workers. Tell me I'm off base, please.

Lost 13 year old
Most likely, the 13 year old was "lost" through the DHHS system, which is not unheard of. Only to very possibly be victimized again.

Could have been even better
