Wilton Maine is not Boston folks. You don't need all of this concern over parking. Eliminate parking on Main St and you will see business's suffer. I am an old lady and if I need to park in the back lots in order to get my hair done; then I'll just have to utilize the big box store in Farmington. Is that what you wish to accomplish? It's already more difficult to park at the lake near Bass Park. Would it behoove this small town to make more sure; any public facilities are made more inconvenient for us to get to? Keep driving folks out of town and that's exactly what you'll see happen. If we need to go to Farmington for everything; why not move over that way? Would that affect the town coffers; losing tax monies; I wonder. The version used to be that it was one of our previous town managers that drove business's out of town. If that were true; he must've trained a lot of people in that thinking.
I'd have to agree on this one. It's appalling to me to see men set in the car drinking a beer while the Mrs takes the kids; goes in; buy groceries; struggles back out; loads the kids; then the groceries in the car; while he sets there bitching cuz she took so long. I've seen this happen repeatedly at Hannaford and Walmart. I thank God daily; he gave me a southern gentleman to share my life with. He does sometimes set out; if I run in but the minute I come out the door; he gets out to take the groceries and put them in the car. It's sad to see someone with disabilities struggle anytime but especially in a snow storm. Good luck to you and your family.
Wayne did a lot of good things for a lot of people. Being entertained in their home was a pleasure for a young lady and family. Vestena you gave it your all; caring for Wayne. God Bless.
Good luck with your new venture. There is certainly a need for more restaurants in this area. And surely; you've proven your goal thru the market to serve the town. Good luck.
If you are a pet owner; like the article say; who's close to their pet; you have to know this is true. How blessed we are to have the trust and loyalty of these wonderful creatures. Mine happens to be a 125lb Lab/Sheperd mix who is a gentle giant. He's an old boy now but has always been a homebody dog. But he's traveled all over with us and travels better than my children ever did:)
How can there be no crime committed? This is the same boy; the man was serving time for kidnapping previously. Even tho the mother let the restraining order lapse; he was CONVICTED. Throw him back in jail.
Thank you Sun Journal for printing this real life story. And thank you to Jeff Baril for being the kind of person that restores our faith in the human race. You guys don't get the credit you deserve and put your life out there for the rest of us everyday. We too believe in paying it forward. My belief is; if someone is in need and you can help; just do it.
How about someone kick her a--- a few times on Main St in downtown Wilton? I'm sure you'd get a line to form to start. The dog only knows what you teach it; so if he doesn't act well; guess who's fault that is? I hope this poor dog gets taken away from this sorry excuse for a human being.
My heart goes out to the family of this lovely person. I did not know her but from the wonderful things written in this article; it sounds like she was a "true" and cared about doing all she could for them. And it appears she had wonderful support from her sister and family and her community as well. Thank you for all you did Ms Robitaille.
I think folks should appreciate what a great article this is about a wonderful person instead of picking it apart. God Bless her family and stay close to the one who offers comfort thru all your sorrows.
I can tell you what; if my children/grandchildren expect to inherit my home; then I think it wouldn't be all bad to pay some back taxes. What do you want for nothing; your money back? Is it a better idea; to have seniors forced out of our homes; to be put in nursing homes where the government can pick up the whole tab? If I worked my whole life to be able to buy a home; I should be forced out due to taxes; when I'm no longer able to work? Someone is always so quick to lay it on the Democrats but if they are responsible for this kind of bill; then Hat's Off to them.

Hey Dr Dosh; how does a few
Hey Dr Dosh; how does a few of these offensive folks; label Rumford as something less than desirable? There are still many, many good folks there.
