This article is about me. and one such incident: I am basically a good kind person, that cares deeply for my beloved horses, I have medical problems that make it not possible to ride a cycle or walk long distance. I love being in the deep woods on a horse, alone or otherwise and have ridden and trained in years past my own Arabians that I had to train to go on the road, and the only way to train them is to take them out there with a good older wiser horse that is road smart. None are 100% in my opinion but if they trust the human they take comfort in that and guidance. I am divorce, and that divorce took my two horses from me. As the Divorce Court Judge gave them to my abusive Exhusband. Alfred R. Hamel both horses were born in my barn and hand raised by me, my childhood dream to raise and train my own came true with those special creatures. If it were not for them life would be very sad for me. So it is my heart desire to inform the public once again about the danger of not proceeding with caution in overtaking a horse it is the vehicles coming from behind that is going to jump some horses. I raised two children one is a Councilmen in Gorham Me. and one has worked for years in the mental health field. I am opinionated but would rather stay to myself but do to the fact that channel 13 just did an article about Riders all over the state being scared on these roads. Because motorist do not understand that a horse a wheel barrel and a wagon are vehicles with the horse being legal in the state of Maine. A legal vehicle and having rights on our roads. Public roads. where we are now being push off many trails by land owers that either have had enough with the motorized four wheel traffic. Or new owners that just want to keep their lands all to themselves.
