I cannot feel sorry for this man. I understand his parents missing their son, but at least they know he's alive. The parents of the man he killed don't have that benefit. They don't have the benefit of even taking a vacation to visit their son. He'll never call them again, never write them another letter...nothing. And this father has the nerve to say “You never know when or if they’ll come back,” said his dad. “That uncertainty, it’s consuming. You don’t know if you will ever see him again. It’s so tough to get through that.” Unbelievable, what about the parents of the man their son killed, they know he'll never come back and they HAVE to live with it everyday. Also, they are encouraging him to take college classes while in prison, wonder if he'll have to pay back any student loans, bogus!
I disagree with displaying the vehicle. Lets think about the families whose lives have been FOREVER changed by the deaths of their children. Why should they be traumatized more with such a gross display. I agree that more needs to be done to teach youngsters that drinking and driving can kill and that texting and driving can also kill, but putting the mangled car in front of the High School where everyone can see is not the answer. Regardless of how a child dies, the end result for the parents is the same...no future with their child. The families need to be thought of first and foremost. Adding to their burden is not a compassionate thing to do. Unfortunately in life we all make poor decisions at some time. Fortunately, some of us never have to pay with our lives or the lives of someone else.
And a plus to it all is that the Host and Hostess are two talented, fun, spirited people and they make any event a memorable, enjoyable time! Congratulations Scot and Cindy. Wishing you years of success at 49 Franklin!!
Our family was so fortunate to have experienced the kindness of Mrs. McInnis. My youngest two children had her as their first grade teacher. She made a wonderful impression on both of them and they remember her fondly. Thank you Brenda for all that you have done!!
