Mr Shield spins his version of the truth completely ignoring the fact that the republicans has increased the federal deficit once again by holding firm to tax cuts for the rich. Big oil, the insurance industry and the Banks to name a few have record profit years as the rest of the nation suffers through the worst economic crisis in my lifetime. Yet, where are the jobs? Why are the banks not loaning money to small business to help stimulate the economy? You can not complain about deficits on one hand and ignore them on the other for the purpose of praising you party. But it is his right to spin this anyway he wants. But the facts are all around us and ignoring them is not going to make things better.

First the constitution is a living document changing over time to reflect the needs of the people. Second. Hiding your identity helps you to hide proudly behind your words (my opinion). I do not agree with personal attacks, snarky comments and outright distortions of facts. I am a liberal independent. While I lean left, I find the middle a lonely place over the last few years. The Healthcare debate, imigration all should be solved by now but, the polarizing left and right continue to vilify eachother like a couple of 5 year olds. Disagreement is healthy, Shouting so loud as to drown out the opinions of others (personal attacks, snarky comments )has become to normal and poisons the debate.

Giving Americans a "right" to quality healthcare is far from cummunism. The Problem is Democrats are spineless. Had they stood up the the Radical Right Wing and exposed them as being in the pockets of Pharma and the Insurance industry, The right wig would have had no choice but to come back to the center and do what is best for all americans.

There is great passion and power in your views (which I mostly agree with). But using name calling make you as bad as any "Tea Partier" looking to excersize there "second amendment remedies". Ht them with the facts and contiue puting your strongest passion into your views. But don't sink to their level. We are better than that.

I will agree with you that the word scumbag was poor choice. Shame on you Tron (finger wagging and all). That said, there seems to be no right wing beyond radical right and that is a shame also. If you are impressed with the way republicans have conducted themselves in the last 20 years then you have also lost sight of the middle. Conservative values are important to this country. So is disagreeing without being disagreeable. the middle is where the left and the right have a meeting of the minds to benefit this country. It is where compromise has taken place since the birth of our country. This is where we should all strive to be (in my opinion).

The rich do not pay 80% of the taxes in this country. That statement does not come from the "horses head". And nobody hates "the rich". We grow to aspire to be "the rich". When the Nations wealthiest people say they do not need or want a tax cut and they still get one... That is the problem here. What is best for the nation is not what republicans are notorious for doing. For many years, they appear to be self serving. Perhaps I am wrong. But if I am, you got a lot of history to recover from to prove it. Every Republican administration in my lifetime has added more to the deficit than any Democratic administration. That is an archived fact. So it seems the problem is the Republicans track record breads discontent. Can you blame us?

If we could all take that passion and channel it, most of our problems would not be Dems or Republicans, Black and White. They would be solved. I pity only those who are too afraid to publically take a stand in this world. Cowards with excuses. It is easy to talk tough, spew false facts or personally attack someone from the shadows. It takes great courage to look a man (or woman) in the eyes and say "I disagree".

The list has not hurt me or my business Ben. I have never needed an alias or sought to hide who I am or my opinions from anyone (as you well know by now). I like to think I am the post child for success and recovery. I have 1 adult child I raised as a single dad and am raising my 5 and 7 year old (mostly by myself). Not sure why you raised the issue but most who do will spin it to suit their own needs.
As for the present, I am fighting to stay in our home and have been for some time.
Cowardly approach
My reputation with my customers is very good and I am quite comfortable with that. While there are always things I can do to improve my business , I believe this economy to be nothing like most have never seen. Many small contractors are facing the wrath of it as I am. we participate in the economy but its demise is hardly our fault. When the banks give out questionable loans, then packaged them, sell them to ivestors as safe investments and then bet against them on the other end. I call that not my fault wouldn't you? The blame lies elsewhere.
I have long called to task both Republicans and Democrats. Because I am liberal and lean toward the Dems does not give me license to ignore what is wrong with them. But facts are what they are. It was G.W. Bush who put 2 wars on a credit card, gave taxbreaks to the rich without replacing the lost revenue. And now you tell me the same political party following the same ideology will pull us out? Please.....
People do not hire me or choose not to hire me because of my politics. Those who would, turn out to be the worst type of customer to deal with (experience in the best teacher). I am hired by my reputation as a contractor, my level of skill and of coarse the price of the job.
I do not hide in the shadows so no one will know my opinions. That is a cowardly approach leaving little or no sign of integrity. I define Integrity as doing the right thing no matter what the outcome is. America need people who can stand up and disagree without being disagreeable. Wgo will face the same facts, share our differing opinion and strive to reach consensus. If you refuse the participate after Feb. 1st because you are afraid to have people know who you are and how you stand in this contry it is you right but a very cowardly approach. Wgich allows you to dorm an opinion that is not based on clear and coherent information. So to coin a phrase " you are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts. If you read the study then you also read that for a short time under Regabomis, the was some initial growth until further tax breaks under him and HW Bush had a negative impact. I stay away from the online comments as most of them, like yours, come from people who would rather post snarky comments based on no facts and do not have the courage to form an opinion based on facts and then get it run in the papers public forum.
