Mary I love you so much and I'm so glad you got to do a job you enjoyed-be it difficult, you kept us going when we didn't want to. No one could ever replace you, and I'm honored to call you my friend!!!!!!
you are so right, i do apologize but i am so sick of murder and death around us. Maybe its just me. I have friends whos children committed suicide and in a support group for grieving parents- and a lot have expressed anger as to why their child did that, and what is has done for the family. I know my child is dead and really didn't see anything, but this really disturbed me, and it came out the wrong way. Sorry for all those I have offended.
maybe it sounded cruel, i really don't care, but he chose to take his own life, my daughter was murdered, she didnt have a choice. It's not fake but thanks for thinking so. I know exactly how the mom feels, but when its effecting where my loved ones are, and bars us from visiting them, dead or alive, I get pissed.
Really?? My daughter is burried there, and from the pics, he wasn't far from her resting place. I was wondering why I couldn't go visit her and why it was locked up, its never locked. Thanks for disturbing the peace. The river is right across the street, perfect place to go do your business, not near my precious daughter and other family members. You don't think she saw this from heaven? I can't go there without feeling weirded out now. It was a peaceful place for me, now I will always think of the selfishness when I go see my daughter. No, I have no sympathy, especially when killing yourself is done in such a sacred place.
Nice. Great view for my baby girl to see from heaven. I know she is safe in the ground, but geesh, this is suppose to be a place of peace and rest. The river is right across the way- go jump in there next time.
Holy crap! If I made 68k a year, the last place I would want to live is on the corner of main and academy street! Just tear that eyesore down and make a nice park so it doesn't look so crappy when ppl come in to that part of town. At least there would be more benches to sit and drink after you used your debit card at florians.
I have seen more 20 and 30 yrs old trying to get disability because they don't have any education and think thats what they need to do. Of course this is coming from being in a generation of welfare recipients. I have patients that worked their butts off, then got hurt, or developed debilitating disease and can't get SSDI. But I know ppl who have drug and alcohol problems and got SSDI!!!!!!!! Priorities ppl, priorities!
Mike, you also have a warped sense of opinion. But thank god it is only an opinion. I was layed off in October, had at least a dozen plus interviews, and no body seems to be hiring. And guess what! I have an Associates degree too!!!!!! I don't qualify for a bit of help because well, really, I don't know.... but I picked up two jobs taking a HUGE cut in pay just to put food on the table. So it doesn't matter what degree or no degree you have, jobs are scarce and daycare is outrages, its cheaper to stay home (although I don't have children requiring daycare anymore). But let me tell you, it is these few ppl that eff it up for others! My child was murdered almost 5 years ago, and when I asked for some help (I obviously wasn't in the state of mind to work) they denied me because I didn't have ANY LIVING CHILDREN living with me. I guess a deceased one doesn't count. I am so glad they are finally scrutinizing more cases. And who ever said its just a few, its not. I am in the medical field and seen ppl with state benifits that make more than I do. Even high profile maine politicians on maine care (boy I wish I could say who they are)and those are the ones that piss me off. Yes there are jobs out there, but you gotta work 2 or 3 just to buy a loaf of bread.
It only makes sense to do it there. Do you have enough space in YOUR backyard? Lost Valley has always been a big part of this. My kids and their friends look forward to this every year. What the hell does this have to do with welfare and nursing homes. You must be pretty friggen miserable if this is your only response.
To quote Peter Griffin " That just grinds my gears!" That money was wasted on wasted people. How come it is taking so long to catch these ppl. We (the public) all know who they are, why don't they, with all this technology around. Its easy to find who's living with who, etc... My credit card has my picture on it for identity purposes, why don't they? You want to make sure the honest ppl are protected too. It only takes one(or in this case 5) rotten apple to spoil it for the rest who TRULEY need it. I am one of the recent unemployed, but I would never ask for help because I don't need it, but if I was single I'm sure I would need it but won't get any help. Why? Cuz I don't have more children than I can't afford to care for. Keep up the investigations DHHS. You might atually find the money you need to keep Maine going.
Ok, so I have no insurance, and my kids are grown. I don't qualify for any health insurance. I work but my age group falls through the cracks. Should I bust out a couple more kids to qualify? I think I can still produce! Haven't hit 40 yet, but close. Gee, so sorry I suck it up, pay cash if I need to see the doctor (but usually I'm on the verge of death) and pay cash for my meds (or I will die, damn heart). I'm willing to pay a premium, but nothings out there with in reach. Any ideas??
best life story ever! My Memere came from a family of 14, she never complained about any of them when she told us stories. I couldn't fathom having that many brothers and sisters, but they all survived, they all had a roof over thier head and full bellies. Boy, have times changed!!!!
because thats in Lewiston! No EL kid is going to want to cross the bridge to go to HS in Lewiston. Duhhhhhh
but then on second thought, the Lewiston tax payers would love to pay for another high school :)
I grew up in Auburn, went through the Auburn School district, went to 6 different schools and never moved ONCE because Auburn kept changing its school districts. I started off at C.P. White School (k-3), then East Auburn for 4th and 5th grade, but then they redistricted us to Webster School for 6th grade (which was very shocking for us because we were so use to 1 classroom per grade, and Webster's diverse cultures and amount of kids stunned us. Well me, at least). We then got shipped to AMS for 7th and 8th grade. Walton for 9th grade. And finished off with ELHS for 10th 11th and 12th grade. Make a decision already and stop shifting and promising these kids (especailly ELHS students) a new school then leave them hanging. They have been talking about building a new HS when I was there ('93). Now my daughter goes there and IT HASN'T CHANGED. The same rugs and waterstains are STILL THERE from when I went there. I wish someone would start with a new HS and work their way down. I don't mind paying the taxes for that. And a Mega school??? Um ok. The only part I agree with in thie report is the middle school holding 6th-8th graders. A lot of other schools around the country do this.
This state is becoming a disgrace. A sense of Entiltlement is everywhere. "you snooze, you loose" seems to be the motto of most. Where I have worked, thats 90% of the customers mentality. Im am so angry those tenants' items where stolen. To be victimized twice, c'mon ppl! Big hugs to Krystal whom I have known since she was a baby, and the rest of the residents. WHEN these ppl are caught, I'm sure there will be plenty of us ready to throw stones.
I came upon that scene. How she got into that canal took skill! Glad she's ok, but seeing that ass end of her SUV sticking out of the canal was a sight I will never forget. I guess that fence wasn't long enough, she just skidded in. Wow is all I can say.
I think a new ELHS should be built, then go from there. I hate sending my kid there, its embarressing but I can't afford to send her to private school. It hasn't changed at all (except for the "new wing") since I graduated, then went back to work there a few years later. These kids need a new HS. When they get to college, they will feel like they are at Disney World... just saying.
I know the mother's pain of loosing a child this way. My heart just breaks for her. 25 years is pretty good, but not good enough. My daughter's murderer only got 14 yrs for killing my child. No ones life ever is the same after a murder, or any death. Stay strong for yourself and your other child Ms. Metzger. No one but you can continue for yourself. I never thought I would live a day without my daughter, but 4 yrs later I am still here......somehow.
If he got beat up in jail, then tuff crap, it happens, he deserved it, and shouldnt even DESERVE to get medical attention. He killed 2 women. Let him sit there and bleed to death. And the guards have done there job right, it took someone all this time to get to him. GOOD!
Um excuse me, the article says she's been cheering since 4th grade, and her sister too, so they know the dangers, they have been doing it long enough. Plus its stated that she had other injuries in the past. She wasn't cheering blindly, and neither was her mother. But funny how she has hit other districts for other "infractions" upon her and her family.
Any sport you sign up for or play is dangerous. The only positive point in this article is the awareness of similar dangers as other sports. Parents and kids sign a contract and thats that! It just would be nice to have athletic trainer on the sidelines instead of the coaches being responsible for EVERYTHING. Thats impossible, you see it on any team. If a kid hits the ball in t-ball practice and it smacks another kid in they eye, its the coaches fault?? I think not. Same with when a flier goes in the air, its up to her TEAM mates to be there. I feel bad for the young lady that got hurt, but I have seen cheerleaders paralized, broken legs, arms, etc... just like in any sport.
I just googles this woman's name and found out that she has gone after other school districts for other things for different reasons. I sympathise for the child's injury, but not for the family's habitual issues with other school departments. Now it sounds like a "oh woah is me" family.
It just doesn't seem at the highschool level, the althletic department doesn't recognize cheering as a "real" sport. But as this article proves, there are some serious dangers just like football, hockey, soccer, etc.. and these sports always have althetic trainers on the sidelines, what makes cheering an exception. I applaud this family for speaking out, but its not the coaches fault, they are doing what they are suppose to be doing. The coaches mentioned are very experienced at what they do, but not all can forsee and accident just like other sports. Cheerleading however doesn't seem to have quite the back up that other physical sports do. There is quite a transition from rec cheering to high school, I do agree. There are also some serious injuries at the rec level. The only problem here, is not having a trainer or someone to asses them at every practice. Don't take cheering away, this is a great sport that these ladies and gentlemen have been doing since very little, just like hockey and football, etc. It just needs to be taken more seriously now. The teams are reaching higher and higher levels in skills and have amazing stamina and strength and balance. My family is also a cheering family and have been for well over 11 yrs, cheering and coaching. High school level, does need the back-up. NOW. These high school teams are getting bigger and better every year.
While working upstate Maine, I travelled daily, and saw on way more than a few occaisions teenagers and young adults just standing over the railing, and throwing things, I have called 911 several times because of what I saw. Snowballs and rocks just missing my car too. Yes, get after the parents too. I'd be mortified if my teen did that and would take full responsibility. Thats what good parents do.
I was working as a school nurse in my mid twenties (I'm now 35), and just had seen Joan Jett and Def Leppard the night before. I knew I was old when I was describing my night and the kids stared at me blankley because they had no clue who they were. I had no one to share my excitement with (cuz my parents wouldn't let me go "back in the day" when they were really hot).
Thank you for being a true friend and now that your finally at peace and in heaven make sure that you look up my Angel Emmy-Leigh, she'll be wearing the pink Boston jersey :)
We lost a great guy who would do ANYTHING for his friends. Thank you Webby for being there for me after Emmy died and our road trips you would take me on to get away from this damn world. What is this would going to be with out a guy like you around! Please give my baby girl a hug up there in heaven .
At the stage he sounds like he's at, there is no way for those wounds to heal, once bone is showing. Imaging being in one position all day long, your body really does break down. I think also it would cost more money to fly his family over, and I would rather die in Maine than any other state.
If or when he does, that monster's conviction to turn to manslaughter! My heart goes out to the family and hope he stays as comfortable as possible, and he gets to share the rest of his days with his boys. Its awful to watch a loved on die by the hands of someone else, I can relate, I had to watch my daughter die when she received injuries from another monster. Its torcher. Good luck to you all.
I see that this is and always will be an ongoing standpoint. There are some people in pain, that can't eat, have cancer, etc... that this benifits. The doctors want to snow them over with 'LEGAL' drugs that makes their blood pressure go up, their sugars go up, or their liver and stomach get eaten up. Working with people in chronic pain, they confide in me that they prefer to smoke, and feel much better when they wake up the next day with out anyside effect from Vicodin, Oxycontin, Oxycode, Morphine, etc. I don't think people understand the positive effects marijuan have on people that smoke it. They don't have that hung over feeling, and are able to move around more and better than those that are prescribed heavy narcotics. Ive never seen anyone get a DUI on this, the worst they can do is smoke till they fall asleep. No liver damage, but if they get it from the wrong people, yes lung damage is a possiblity. But just taking in our polluted air can do that too. Think twice.
Well, I have to say the concensus in my household wants to go to school earlier and GET OUT EARLIER. If you have the luxury of going to camp during Labor Day weekend, then you have the luxury of affording the gas to get back and forth. I think all will say it is kind of a waste to go to school for 3 or 4 days, then have 3 days off, but in the end it all works out. Very unusuall to have this hot weather that we had, but look- OUR KIDS SURVIVED WITHOUT AC! My biggest complaint acutally is how my kids freeze in school because most schools can't afford to update the heating system. Leave well enough alone. I like to start my summer ASAP when the kids get out, but love to send them too befor September :)
as an employee of Wahlcometroflex-First of all I would Like to thank our owners. In a time of econmic hardships they managed to keep us employed.I look forward being a part of Senior.
Do parents not teach their kids respect anymore??? Ugh, this is the ultimate disrespect. This makes me want to vomit. How cruel and just plain STUPID!!!!! C'mon guys. Luckily my daughter isn't burried there, but if her stone EVER got touched and I found out who did it, KARMA will come back full force!!! How dare u stupid idiots for descicrated someone's loved ones FINAL resting place. You think its funny now??? Its equivalent to breaking in ones house and turning it upside down and stealing and then assaulting them. SHAME ON YOU. YOU MAKE ME SICK. Thank you for the volunteers for helping to set the stones back, you should get a metal of honor. I use to live by that cemetary and it amazed me everytime, reading the stones, and imagined what kind of life they lived. Its one of the oldest cemetaries thats full of rich history for lewiston/Auburn. I hope you a holes get toppled over and "can't get up". I spit on you.
Shut up. This is a nice quiet neighborhood. Good way to put a dim switch on something all ready. You must hang out there cuz u seem to know what happens!
Ok, I think this is great for the area, a nice looking apartment complex, until I read -and the rest for low income housing". What????? I thought the artist's conception looked really nice and classy and I would love to live in a place like that, till they mentioned low income, which means section 8, which means more of "the other clan" taking over like the rest of Lisbon st. I for once would like to live in a nice looking building. I pay more than over the top for my rent now, but if you have section 8, its easier to get the good places because the owners can jack up the price and charge almost what ever they want. I don't qualify for anything. I'm one of those who makes to much but not enough. I presently live in a very nice 3 bedroom that is more than I can afford but I do it to keep my family in a decent place. Wi-fi, gym? bring it on. But I guess I can't live there cuz I need 3 bedrooms and I dont qualify for sections 8. Thumbs down for me.
This is probably the same people that buy and stock up on sugar and flour etc. from walmart and use thier lovely EBT cards to purchase said items, only to resell them at their "African" stores.
Sounds to me like it was consentual, but the 14 yr old got caught, prolly both of them bragging to their friends. Of course no one knows the real story. But these days, girls look much older than their real age. Shame on him for doing it with out checking her ID! Its his stupidity and her immaturity that happened. Mom found out, got mad, and called the cops. But thats my opinion. I see it all the time.
His lawyer wasnt ineffective. Mr Gamache is doing ANYTHING to get out of his punishment. The facts are facts in this case, and thats something you can't change!
Nice try, you are a not going to get this. Over my daughter's dead body. You selfish, selfish "man" who still can't tell truth to what you did to my daughter. Thank goodness the evidence prevailed and not your lies, her bruises, her swelled brain, her lungs filled with her own vomit! What you did to her in 30 minutes caused me and my family, so much pain. She was pepere's angel, her sisters best friend, her memere's life, my reason for happiness, her aunties little pal, and sooo much more. Because of her death, 83 little cheerleaders were devistated, they miss thier mascott, my children are scarred for life (seeing their sister lifeless) me and my parents have endless heartwrenching pain. You will not win, nothing will change what you did to her. This will not knock us down again, we are fiercely strong and have over come great obsticles to make sure her name lives on forever. And I quote from one of her aunties " I hope when you close your eyes at night her bright blue eyes shine through and haunt you forever".
My heart goes out to the family left behind in this tragedy. No one can comprehend the loss of a daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and friend. When this happens in our lives it SUCKS, doesn't matter how a person dies, loosing a loved one especially a mom or a daughter is heartwrenching. Keep her memories alive for her daughter! This is a mothers worse nightmare, and I feel your pain, but you have to remember the ones that are still alive and make sure you are there for them. My daughter was also murdered and the pain is unbearable, but it does, believe it or not, get easier as time goes on, just make sure her daughter doesn't get lost in the shuffle. God Bless. ~ Angel Emmy's Mommy
I think this is awsome that these pictures were posted, just like the SJ posts ppl who have been arrested for drunk driving. Some ppl need to be fully humiliated and see what the look like to others before they stop!

I feel bad for the young lady that got hurt, but I have seen cheerleaders paralized, broken legs, arms, etc... just like in any sport.
woah wait a minute
I just googles this woman's name and found out that she has gone after other school districts for other things for different reasons. I sympathise for the child's injury, but not for the family's habitual issues with other school departments. Now it sounds like a "oh woah is me" family.
This is a sport
AAArghh, I would just love to
AAArghh, I would just love to punch him myself and give him a matching black eye.
Fight Club, that was a good
Fight Club, that was a good movie! life imitating art? probably, because it happens all the time! I'm glad my kids chose a different club though!
GOOD!
Thats what good parents do.
wal mart
um yah, most of us know what that address is, but thanks for the 411.
AMEN
I had to chuckle at that. And rock and roll makes us do drugs too.
Im old
I was working as a school nurse in my mid twenties (I'm now 35), and just had seen Joan Jett and Def Leppard the night before. I knew I was old when I was describing my night and the kids stared at me blankley because they had no clue who they were. I had no one to share my excitement with (cuz my parents wouldn't let me go "back in the day" when they were really hot).
Miss you.
Thank you for being a true friend and now that your finally at peace and in heaven make sure that you look up my Angel Emmy-Leigh, she'll be wearing the pink Boston jersey :)
I'll miss you
We lost a great guy who would do ANYTHING for his friends. Thank you Webby for being there for me after Emmy died and our road trips you would take me on to get away from this damn world. What is this would going to be with out a guy like you around! Please give my baby girl a hug up there in heaven .
RIP WEBBY
At the stage he sounds like
At the stage he sounds like he's at, there is no way for those wounds to heal, once bone is showing. Imaging being in one position all day long, your body really does break down. I think also it would cost more money to fly his family over, and I would rather die in Maine than any other state.
Its awful to watch a loved one die
If or when he does, that monster's conviction to turn to manslaughter! My heart goes out to the family and hope he stays as comfortable as possible, and he gets to share the rest of his days with his boys. Its awful to watch a loved on die by the hands of someone else, I can relate, I had to watch my daughter die when she received injuries from another monster. Its torcher. Good luck to you all.
Way to go guys, you deserve
Way to go guys, you deserve it!
NEVER WILL LEARN
Mike, I am so glad to that your daughter isn't around you to see how much of a f**k up u are.
Think twice
Leave well enough alone

I spit on you
Do parents not teach their kids respect anymore???

Is there a section for those graduates in hand cuffs? Oh wait- Im sure their parents money bailed them out- lol.

NOT ME!
NOT ME!
Great- another area over run
Thumbs down for me.
never learns
Nice job Mike! Your daughter is reallllly proud of you!
dumb ass

This is probably the same
This is probably the same people that buy and stock up on sugar and flour etc. from walmart and use thier lovely EBT cards to purchase said items, only to resell them at their "African" stores.
Sounds to me like it was
Sounds to me like it was consentual, but the 14 yr old got caught, prolly both of them bragging to their friends. Of course no one knows the real story. But these days, girls look much older than their real age. Shame on him for doing it with out checking her ID! Its his stupidity and her immaturity that happened. Mom found out, got mad, and called the cops. But thats my opinion. I see it all the time.
Medical evidence, is medical
Medical evidence, is medical evidence, a bad or GOOD lawyer can't defend that.
His lawyer wasnt
His lawyer wasnt ineffective. Mr Gamache is doing ANYTHING to get out of his punishment. The facts are facts in this case, and thats something you can't change!
p.s. he's not at the maine
p.s. he's not at the maine state prison, they moved him to Windham.
Nice try, you are a not
Nice try, you are a not going to get this. And I quote from one of her aunties " I hope when you close your eyes at night her bright blue eyes shine through and haunt you forever".
geez how many times has greg
geez how many times has greg pelletier been arrested for domestic violence? like a zillion?? just lock him up for good already!!
My heart goes out to the
My heart goes out to the family left behind in this tragedy.

I think this is awsome that
I think this is awsome that these pictures were posted, just like the SJ posts ppl who have been arrested for drunk driving. Some ppl need to be fully humiliated and see what the look like to others before they stop!
