I am a busy parent of a toddler. I have and love animals of all kinds. I love the state I live in! I believe in Positive Reinforcement to reduce negativity.
I mean, "found it" I searched for this article, to see if there were any Other related articles since I last was here. I am scared to drive still, because some one can cross the center line, any time, for any reason at all, and there may not be another car right there. But, I pray to God,that when I am that other car, who is right there, that my life & my child's life, and dogs, be spared.
It can happen from dropping a piece of gum, a cigarette, changing the radio station, picking up the phone... ahhh many things. I will be even more attentive when driving. I dont want to be the Cause of such an accident either. gosh! This is heart breaking. I really empathise deep for these folks and their losses. Well,I dont know if any one is coming back to this discussion, or not, but I wanted to check in to see if there was any news on this. Hoping you are safe and dilligent drivers. oh boy, I dont even know what to say. I just really feel for these folks. And we Cannot turn back time.
Has there been any follow ups? About what was the cause of the accident? Meaning why the driver of the truck was seen speeding and swerving in and out of traffic right before the crash? WAS there a medical condition? Was there a reason he didnt pull over and let the passenger take over?
I have been curious. I hope people are healing from all of this. I looked up this story, after plugging in the search bar "Minot Ave" and a few other fatal accidents popped up. Wow!
..... since I brought it up .......... I think that, speed, velocity, opposite dirrections, force of grativy all play a factor in head ons. I have seen many "totaled" vehicles that didnt look half THAT bad as these ones did, who were going at normal rates of speed. (under 35)
even 35 mph can do some serious damage actually. But, if you saw either of these two heaps of metal, it would literally take your breath away. :(
Not sure where the "posible medical issue" came from. Maybe the surving passenger said it? Dont know. But, if you are in an emergency need, you do not weave in and out of traffic hauling a loaded snow mobile trailer speeding down a residential road! You pull over and call 911. That is what's got me curious. That part right there. I am not criticising. I am searching facts & curious about answers.
So, that;s why I posed the question about "what kind of medical issue would cause excessive rates of speeding?" Do you know what I mean? Because there have been a few "medical event" crashes in Maine lately. Some cases it was a one step accident. Meaning, Person swerves, crashes. Done. Sometimes involves another car, sometimes isolated crash into natural surroundings. I am simplifying my description, I know that. But to point out the major difference in the TYPE of crashES that occurred. This was a multiple event series of crashes.. Phew! They will have their work cut out for them, working on this case.

It doesnt cost much for person to photograph their own jewelry and print it at Rite Aid or Walmart, or even their home computer and printer? I am more of a private person. I would not like even photographs of my jewelry some where else but home.
As long as you have something in the photo that idendtifies you as the owner of the piece, you are all set. Unless it has no significant value. If so, either way, still a treasure for the person. And, they can even have an envelope with their name and address on it, driver's licens, next to the piece. There are a few ways to keep the idendity of your jewelry safe. Just sayin' :)

I saw the jeep that was hauled off. It was completely pulverised up to the back seat! The other car was hit so hard it was split in two pieces! WoW! I looked at these photos, and I can only imagine the devastation for those families involved.
That Jeep must have been going mighty fast to have pulverized like that. I dont know what kind of medical condition would cause high rates of speeding. I was told he was swerving in and out of cars. I guess more info will become available soon. I travel that road often with my little girl and two dogs. I pray to God nothing like this ever happens to us. Innocent, driving along, and then BAM! Your'e struck head on. I am a nervous wreck now. :S

couples who cannot get along, and decide to stab the other one. Just last night i was reading about the man in Turner who shot his girl friend. Tonight I read a woman stabbed her boy friend in the back, around midnight last night! WoW! People who dont get along, should break up! Not shoot, stab or whatever. wow

I am scrounging to come up with money for my 16 year old vehicle, to pass my inspection sticker! I cannot afford hundreds of dollars every year on this. sorry, was venting a little bit. But, i am having it hard right now. Got everything done to it, and thought I was all set, but nope, gotta come up with around 200 bucks or so, for one more repair, and no sticker, still. No transportation for me now, or get a crimminal charge for it like it is with an over due sticker.. ahhhh :S

If it means, you put on a warm jacked and hat, and just sit there, in a safe distance, than, that's what you do. I have done this, and got to the point where I could handle the cat.
You can do it! :) Please do not make them wander for food. Put the food in a safe location, where they feel they are out of harms way. But, they can still observe you and your actions. ......... is common. Broken arm on a 18 month old IS NOT COMMON. Bruised in the USUAL locations is common as a child is a toddler and explores, and stumbles while playing at getting good walking.
I know of a case where a woman, after following a SUV (with tinted windows)in traffic, into a department store parking lot, claimed they saw a parent beating on their infant in the back seat (while driving) and claims they saw the continued beating after they pulled over and parked adjacent to the SUV.
The cops where there for almost 2 hours!The real story was, that the family dog was stealing the child's McDonald's, and the parent slapped the dog then pulled the dog up front away from the child's food! This witness INISTED that an charge AND arrest happen. The child was forcibly removed from the scene & brought to the emergency room with NO visible signs of injury or tramma, the person was arrested and charged! For slapping their dog, in traffic.
NOW my point, DHS can and will go after to most mundane, cirumstantial bullshit, with no proof whatsoever! NO injury, no tramma, ER cleared the child, DHS agent cleared the parent & child back to home.... But court still wouldnt drop it! Proceedings continued. But they will let stuff like THIS broken arm baby, GO! I dont get it. In case where there IS NOT ABUSE a person gets arrested, and brought to court, humiliated, carries a heavy wieght of something they didnt do.
They are far from perfect. They DO MAKE MISTAKES. They can be mistaken, and cause a family undue burdens and harship, when no crime was ever commited. Then again, can let some things go, where there is EVIDENT sign of injury ocurring, now we have a missing or deceased baby, with a broken arm. It breaks my heart
For those of you, who want to criticise my little rant here : please take the time, to volunteer at the court house. BE there as moral support for someone, or just go, sit and see what goes on there. You will see people in a whirl wind of dispair, trying to get help and searching for answers. You will hear people giving their story of truth, and being told for, the court's convinience sake, to go ahead and plead guilty to things they did not commit. That is why I study law. I am deeply moved by both sides. If you have never been close to some one who has been involved with DHS for ANY reason, then you may need to ~ get some insight ~ before saying much more.
I know of another case where a 3 1/2 year old was being molested by a family friend, in exchange for drugs going to the grandparent. DHS removed the child to one of the child's relatives. The grand mother started visiting there, was left alone w/the child, then the perpetrator began to get back into action, again! I wish I could help all of those children. I wish I could could have sucess and pray for the leaders and protect workes find truth, and pray for guidance for them to search deep within themselves what the truth reall is. And, not make snap judgments out of a personal agenda or need to have a God complex, and just feel for the truth, when they cannot see it plainly.
I am continuing to pray for the victom only right now. I do not know all of the evidence about either parent, so I will not judge any further. I just have questions, and my heart breaks for this child now. If neither parent did any wrong doing, I pray for their strength to get through this.

A three year old would have to have a pretty major fall in order to break an arm! When mine was a toddler, they had tumbles all the time (climbing on the couch, getting out off the chair, playing and not paying attention) NORMAL stuff, that kids do. She NEVER broke an arm! Oh gosh! WTH is going on at DHS these days?
I have a question for the Mother : NO contact with your daughter's father because you werent getting along? I could not go THAT long without contact with my child! And I cannot stand my daughter's father. WE dont get along AT all! Hell, I cannot even stand being away from my child while they are having an ovenight visit with theier Dad, coming home the next day. I am on the phone with my child throughout their visit. I do not let go of my child, just because they are with their Dad.
Alot of questions here. Another one for the Dad : how can some one go an entire night, into late morning, without checking on thier small child, one time? What was he doing to keep him from seeing if his child was sleeping or not througout the night? Kids that age are up waaaaay before 9 am! She was awake at 7:30 am or so, and with some one! Who has her!

the victom had a phone, was calling 911 and her friend ran out the door to call for help? This does not sit right with me. Something is missing.
then I read "He thought I was dead," Swift said, and he left." But, why this .. "She somehow made it up to the fourth floor of the building, looking for help." the attacker has left the apartment, the friend has let the apartment, and now the victim has left the apartment.
Ending up with the victim on the 4th floor inches from death's door,when 911 had been called. Where did the friend go? Did or didnt they reach help? No one came back to check on their friend who was being attacked? Did dispatch send ERS, or did the friend get them sent? Or did the 4th floor neighbor call?
This is a horrible crime. She is lucky to have survived such a brutal attack. I pray for the victim and her child. And for those who are supporting the victim through this.

I still feel that it is possible to send the rear ended car into traffic, due to the fact that it doesnt take much to push past the bright yellow. Only a couple feet, and B O O M ! So, sad, that this has happened. Like you said though, is good to be dilligent about stopping to turn on a high speed area such as this one. There have been too many fatalities there. Some from passing cars, some from people not paying attention, and rear ending some one.
I was just out there today. I was a nervous wreck driving, but I didnt need to make any stops and left turns. I would rather pull over to the right. And wait till all clear, BOTH WAYS! :) Pull back out, going back the way I came, then again, pulling to the right shoulder, then making my turn from there. Seems like alot doesnt it? Gosh uh? wow
Pretty bad that we have to pass our left turn, and pull over to the right some where to go back the opposite dirrection, drive up to our turn, pull over to the right, to safely slow down in the break down lane, to make the turn... oh boy! But, ya know, I want to be safe. I cannot garrentee that the person scooting down the high way, is going to notice me stopped in front of them. So, I will do what I have to do, take the extra time. I have a better night, driving past my turn, and going back safely to pull over, than spending a night in the ER, or the next day pushing up daisies.
IS NUTS.... prayers for the both of them. Prayers that the Mother can heal her broken heart from being assaulted by her child. And,prayer that the child, will find ways to repent, and make amends some how.

He sure is wonderful with kids, including small ones. My little girl is 5, and she adores him, partly because they are both so curious. He is also one of the most patient horses you will ever meet. adorable as can be!
My little girl thinks he looks like a Princess's horse (like in her Princess stories, "they look just like him", she tells me) Well, except for the missing embroidered silk & velvet tapestries, with jewels & beads hanging down. What a tradgedy. I wish it was reported WHAT caused the police to be there. I read it said "domestic" issue. That was it. I agree with all the comments made in March of this year by every one. That deadly force should only be used when no other option is viable.

He didnt hear them say "put your weapon down" He seemed delerious, because he was confused as to WTH was going on. He sounded strange, because he was deaf and couldnt talk like the rest of us. I would not let a pregnant cat OUT in the first place. Sometimes a cat becomes pregant before the owners get a chance to have them spade. All situations are different.
But just so people know, there are spay/neuter programs to help people with this.. All you have to do is ask your local shelter. True, that there are many cats at shelters who need homes NOW. hear breaking

This is abosolutely true. Many people dont realize a 2 minute check over your body or your pet's will save you alot of pain and aggrevation.
A friend of mine, who has been complaining about being sick for weeks, finally went and got checked. He was told he contracted Lime Disease. He was given some horse pills. Then was still sick the next week with upper respiratory. So they told him he had Broncitis. They gave him antibiotics or something. He was still sick a week after that, and they told him he had "fluid on the lungs" sent him home with an Oxygen Tank! Not sure WHT is going on with all that.
I hate blood sucking insects. I check my dogs every single day. And we are not in a higly populated tick environment, but still, need to check them. I have recently learned that there are some flea meds, that only cover adult fleas. Others are more effective that will cover, flea, ticks, flea larvae, flea eggs. This will make a huge impact on the continous un ending cycle. Vacuming alone doesnt cut it. We need a flea med that works. So, that the adults will not be given on going blood meals and be all happy to produce MORE! ahh gosh, I am so groced out right now. yuck!

Murder seems to be on the uprise around here this year. The man who came up from out of state to kill his X in front of her young children, is one of the most spineless ones I have heard of in a long time! Well, actually the matchetee wielding son of a *B* who attemepted to kill a family of four to steal from them. BRUTAL! again another horrible memory for that family. Although the mother bailed out the window, while her husband and daughter were being slaughtered alive. She might not have seen quite as much as the two victims did.
ahhhh God, I need to find away to let some of this go. It is hard, when you feel for these victims the way some of do. Prayers of healing and light towards those vicitims families are still going up, from here.

The other REALLY bizzarre murder case, was the guy who went to a ski resort, during off season. He killed the owner and the handful of people who there at the time. He even killed the dog! It was pretty brutal! I cannot find the LSJ news link for that. But, found a bunch of others.
A woman from NH dropped off her 5 year old's D.B. on a rural road this Spring. We all went crazy trying to determine WHO this beautiful child was... It was quite the frenzy, untill a witness came forward, after spotting the murder's vehicle at a rest stop, thought it was supsicious, called it in. hmm horribly sad
And a couple of months ago, YES another D.B. was found in a basement, behind some boxes. The person had been there, and missing for two weeks! The guy had admitted to a AA sponsor, and the both of them kept it secret for two weeks. Sickening!

When the courts do something like this, I am so discouraged, at what the system does for a victom in such a brutal and terrorising crime like this! This is bull crap.

The Salvation Army is a National Non Profit Organization. They need to answer to more than just the friendly faces you see in person. They served there for a long time. I KNOW they will miss their patrons, know this for a fact.
I agree, with the change. I think it will be best to have each one work independently. They each have their own special quallities to offer.
And a warming center will always be a warming center. Regardless if it comes with hot lunch or not. The needs will still be met. There are plently of people looking for work right now. Even volunteer jobs are scarce. So, as far as getting people to work, dont worry about that. The bodies just pile up for that. The whole thing is very odd. I was just tossing some ideas out there. To be a good investigator, you look at all combined facts. The obvious ones, the not so obvious ones. And the redundant and seemingly non relavent stuff too! So, with that, you get more info trickling in.
Sometimes people want more than the basic facts. Sometimes people want to find a way to get more answers, so to lay to rest years of heartache and questions. Compassion is part of that search through the facts.

Now I am curious.. Was some one paying for the storage unit? WHO was paying for it. Why would a 80 year old person, have a storage unit. I help my mother with things that she needs. She is 71, I would know if she had a storage unit or not. I would want to check on it, BEFORE she died! Just in case it was an extra expense for her.

I have helped people over the years as a VOLUNTEER legal advocate, and I was never aware that it was considered public information. Especially in cases that are considered to be CRIMINAL. You cannot get POLICE REPORTS, for example, unless done through an attorney in a MOTION TO REQUEST DISCOVERY.
I am relieved to see the document has been removed here. I think it is best. I dont know if family or friends can bear to read all those details surrounding their loved one's death.
Any one who is picked for jury duty, if trial is chosen at the initial hearing, instead of guilty plea, they will be sided, from having read this detailed information about the case.

I just realized, I was just reading something over the Summer, about three other women who were found dead, in New England. The mother of one of the victims, sent up balloons in memory sake. The three woman, were found to have been involved with escort service, and traveling to do it.
I feel heart broken about this turn of events. I dont know if anyone knows about those other deaths?
I would like people to be aware, this is NOT a tree. It is a weed. It takes over lawns, chokes beautiful maple, and other trees. I have chopped down a sumac tree in our back yard. And, the stinking thing keeps coming up all over the danged lawn! I sawed off the roots, I sawed off whatever was coming up from roots out of the ground.
The new ones were popping up 10-20 feet away from the main tree/roots! This is a disease to me. They are growing, like weeds along every road in Auburn. Kids go back and forth everyday, by the huge flocks of sumac tree up and down court street Auburn, by Auburn Middle School. Dont people realize these tree are allergens?
I am told the ones with the red pollen sacks on them are not "poisonous" The OTHER Sumac tress ARE poisonous. YES THEY ARE! to many people.
The one where I live, does not have the red pollen sack. I didnt realize it was Sumac, untill I had a flas rash on my face one day. I had picked up a stick in the yard, tossed it into the bushes. I swiped my hair out of my face. The next day BAM! Days later I had to go to the emergency room for a prescription emergency action. It was incredibly painful. I couldnt sleep, or do alot of things.
Please keep in mind, if you own property where public acesses, please cut the danged weeds down, before they become a tree, and spawn all over the place. This is a health hazzard, in my opinion. I know a few other people who, also cringe whenever they groves of Sumac trees along the side of the road.

I was breath., well, I lost , ahmm this is a horrible thing. I just held my breath, while I read the part where there were several other family members in the home, who fled.
It pretty creepy for a person to go into a home of a kid some one be friended and visited, to go in, steal, and murder the entire family. This was the obvious intent.
I know as a Mother, I do not know if I would flee the scene, where my husband was just attacked, my daughter lay on the floor dying, and leave my other daughter in the home, to possibly be brutally murdered.
I just cannot see it, I cannot see myself, doing this. Despite my horror! I AM trying to put myself in her shoes.
I am also smart enough to know, that I cannot take a chance on being killed myself, to be there for the other survirors (of the attempted masacre.)
But, I really do believe, in my heart, that I would do whatever I could to save my children. I know a machettte is a long bladed weapon, is kinda hard to defend yourself against that. But, I hope to God there would be a way, some how..

I will admit, I hate it down there. I do not live there. I have a relative who does, and the things I have seen are rediculous. I saw a little girl maybe 3 yrs old, walking around a parking lot, on knox street, with her little brother. She has no shoes on, no shirt on, just diaper and pants. She was beautiful! No parent, sitting on the steps, observing. NO ONE I looked up and down the street, not one human in sight! NOBODY!
*P* go cruise up and down the streets looking for young children all alone. There seems to be a nice selection too, while their parents are inside drinking or druggin it up. They do not care who watches their kids, even if it IS a *P* ! At least they are not buggin them. I am sickened. The kids were gone 15 minutes later. I did not know what to do, to call police? go over to the unmanned police station?
What I DID do, is pray for the little girl and boy.

I have no idea what is going on with street drugs. I mean WHY on God's green Earth, would some one "lace" something mild, with something toxic. I have heard of it over the years. And, quite frankly, never understood it. sickening to say the least
If you think the parking and walking is a problem for access, what do you think the 2 mile walk will be for all the people who have been going to this location all along witll have to do? What about cheaper cab fares, because of the closer milleage?
Why would the Y go from 1 1/2 acres to 92 acres and a house? This is not a good thing. I am very close friends with almost every family who lives on the property or near it. This will be devastating to them. This is an agricultural part of Auburn, and is one of the oldest settlements in Auburn. There is are surrounding hay fields, that provide food for the cattle in the area, as well as for horses near by.
The people who live in this area are barely making by. They love their family and animals. I am not sure they will be able to afford the expected tax increases, and all the traffic. What will happen to the hay fields? Is this part of the property the Y bought? Why? Why take all of it! Why not just take what you need, and leave the rest.
OMG this is not good at all.. I need to get in my car, and drive over there to see how everybody is doing with this! (that live in that area) I live 3 minutes from the current Y location. Yes parking can be a pain in the butt. However the distance away is rediculous. I am NOT happy about this, not at all. Maybe I need some more facts. But, a few people who live on North River road, have already started to panic, and now there are three houses up for sale already! Wait till they hear this!

I know that for example, a court appointed attorney, gets little to no pay at all. So, they do not always want to spend much time on a case. Sad to say, but it depends on the person, and their compassion or empathy level. In Maine, there is no EXPUNGE there is only Pardon. As you may already know. So, a person does not get erased, they only get "forgiven" for the crime they were convicted of. And, getting a pardon is almost impossible in this state too! I have been curious about this over the years, and I have researched it a little bit. Apparently less than 20% of people who apply for a pardon, actually get one.
This is very discrouraging, to say the least, to many people affected by 911 security check requirements. Because people may have held down the same job for 15 years or more, and get canned because of the "new back ground check requirement" And, for all the critics out there? Even if you have a college degree, or a license or certificate in a certain field or job, you will STILL NOT GET HIRED with felony record. So, even though you do not live like a crimminal, you will be forced to anyway, and be treated as a crimminal.
Now I am only speaking from my experience with people who have minor crimminal records. I am not talking about persons who, for example : pose a threat to the public safety, including or especially children. These things would include extremely violent crimes or harming children etc.
So, I do not know John, what else can be done.. It is surely nice to see that someone is now paying attention around here! Thank you to the Caree Center! All you can do bud, is just keep your head up high, keep making yourself the best person you can be, and dont give up. No one wants to hear the person's story, it seems. And, they need to start! Open your minds up people.

Did you ever think of the fact that people make mistakes, that should not follow you for the rest of your life? Did you ever hear anything that goes on in a court room? Did you know every single person heading into to a hearing where they plead guilty or not guilty, is handed a PLEA DEAL? Whether you are guilty or not, you are being askd to do what is quicker, and easier for the state of Maine!
I know for an absolute fact, that many people have been urged to plead guilty with the threat of jail time over their head! So, they just do it, and get it over with, go home with a fine, probation, jail time suspended.
Believe it or not, there ARE people out there busting their but to provide a life for their children and themselves (with an old record) who made the wrong choice out of fear and ignorrance! Give them a break, let them work. I am saddened by the cruelty.
One final note, read up on list. Read the list of "felony charges" considered by our Federal Governemt, and you will see some pretty stupid, petty stuff in there. Trust me on this, you will be surprised. Maybe you or some one you know has done some foolish things, AND NEVER GOT CAUGHT! Well, now look what a mess we have here.

KARMA, means equal pay/reward for equal kindness/deed, and or equal punishment for equal bad acts.
A near fatality is NOT KARMA. Something needs to be done about kids breaking into places. Something also needs about why kids would go to such extremes to get alchohol. Looking into that would be a better way to prevent or educate. Poisoning is not the deterent needed.

I heard of a story where a guy who hates his neighbor's cats, who boasted about putting out bowls of antifreeze to "solve the problem" he has also shot at cats too. I do not know who this person is, or I would be calling the police. The person who told me about, will not reveal who the criminal is either!

I have two large dogs, not pits, but wieghing more... I have had to keep strict protocol with my dogs, because of having a small child in my home.. They KNOW their place without question. I cannot speak for other dog owners.
But, a couple of times, in the beginnng, when my dog got out of line, I did the same thing, I pinned his but to the floor, held him there, and waited till he knew to knock it the hell off. He only got aggitated. I do not allow even that. So, animals will be animals, always unpredictable. But, honestly, I like to know my odds with my animals.
I reduce the risk. But, again, not every one can or knows how, or even wants to bother. Most times, if a dog shows agression, it is returned upon the animal. In other words, the dog will be beaten or whatever for it. Guess what THAT results in? More aggession. Tickng bom..
Well, I hope that the dog will be trained some more, and people will also become more aware of the warning signs on either side of the bite.
......... I have seen some one doing this: Where a dog owner was teaching their dog to not like black people. This couple gets their dog all cranked up whenever they see a black person going by. A few times, I was in the area, and saw them deliberately let their dog loose, and said "get em get em!" Like that... Then they all laugh as the dog chases down the passerby....
Are people so intolerant now of the newest immigrants, that they cannot at least offer common respect and safety to let others pass by?. Just because we do not all think allike doesnt mean cruetlty and predjudice is accpetable.

I dont understand. Ok, so what if a person's dog in their home or friend;s home, attacks a kid. The parent of the kid would be charged with something no doubt! Like cruetly or oh I dont know! ahhh am frustrated now.

Ok, I know I may be taking a risk by saying this, but here goes : I personally have met many people who own dangerous pit bulls. They are some what abusive or totally abusive to their dogs, in turn the dogs are viscous or unpredictable! So, now, none of them, have ever registered their or vaccinated their dogs. They did not ever take any responsiblity for the dog, except to walk around town looking all tough and everything. Thinking they are a bad-ass or something.
It's the owner's mentality that leads to dog attacks. Regardless of breed, but most of the time the ones who are viscous have owners, who, like I said, do not take responsibility for their dogs! Hey people! Go to PETQUARTERS! They have rabies vaccination clinics! No office charge... Keep safe And be nice to your dogs, so they will be nice to people, while u r in public... my dog is NOT a bad-ass, he is a lovable poochie, who is vacinated! :)

I have driven that 5 days a week, and have a friend in the area. I have seen countless times where people walk down the middle of the street. Kids running abound with no adult in sight, like Robbin said.
I have seen people so many times, as I am scootin along my green light .... just boom, walk right out in front of my damn car! I locked up my breaks soooooooooo many times! Yes it is a pain in the but, but I try to watch for it, like Cathy said.
But since I was not there, I cannot say what happened. I just know that is hard to get around down town when people see you coming and walk right out in front of a moving car like that. It nerve wracking driving there for me. Because some one was about to cross the street, and did that one other time, the driver in front of me locked up THEIR brakes without warning, I slammed into their ass end! B O O M !
Another time, I was in tight traffic, and a guy ran a red light, did a left turn in front of the car in front of me, she almost T boned the jerk, she locked up her breaks, and B O O M ! I slid into her ass end. Lovely x--x Dude that ran the red light, that caused the accident? Kept goin, of course

At the time this happened, I was told by a few people who had some some compassion and empathy for the sitation, that the DHS acted like I was some kind of crimminal or something. When there really are crimminals getting away with ludicrice stuff! It stinks, plain and simple.
Give people a break who are really trying hard, & being up front about any challenges, and spend your "make'm pay or else" attitude towards people who are blatenly disregarding the laws of the system. This is just to let readers know, that NOT all welfare recipiants are frauders ok? gheesh :(
well, if some one doesnt even drive, have a license, or a car, then why the helll did the state worker give this woman vehicle repair money!? Gosh! I have both,&I cannot get any help w/my vehicle repairs. I could not work enough hours to quallify for the state minimum of benefits. I had child sickness days out, tons of snow days out of work, lost the brakes in my car, a fuel line leak etc. Even though I had legitimate documents, I was screwed for hours at my job.
So, guess what? They took my young child out of day care, refused to pay for the time my child was in, (that week) and shut off any vehicle repair requests! NO NOTICE given! BAMMMMM! so some body IS doing their job at the DHS. Just devastated me and my child. Lost my job & have a dangerous vehicle in need of emergency repairs.
MY point? Good people, honest to the letter, are getting hurt, and NOT being given a little leaway, when needed. And, people who lie and decieve or did, get away with this crap for so long. (along with many more like this) My child was devastated to loose all her friends & teachers, that she had known most of her young life. Is having some detatchment and transition issues because of it too. :(
I gave detailed proof, on the days i missed work, to my worker. Garrage reciepts for auto parts etc, day care holiday closings etc. All of it was legit, and I was STILL CUT (by the supervisor). No empathy or compassion, was even offered in my case. I was at work, when she blasted me with the bomb,& she actually expected me to finish out my day & my work week there too! (of course with out child care, bring my 4 yr old to work?)
I was in tears, about how this would affect my little child. I did the best I could, was having one hardhip after another.
ohh! ok, thank you for the clarification. I got confused I guess I wasnt paying attention. It grabbed my attention when I read that they arrested him at court for the drug charges. I thought he would have had those charges filed along the same time as the theft of the tractor.

The trauma this poor 6 month old recieved is heart wrenching. I have prayed for his recovery. And many prayers to the gentle kinds hands who treated him at the ERV and the H.S. as well. It is a tough job to work in a place like that. Alot of not so happy stories. Very demanding on one's heart and takes alot of personal strength.

Y E S ! it is a problem there, when you are be boppping along, trying to get home, or get to your child's school or daycare to pick them up on time, and you have to brake quickly every time some one slows down to almost a dead stop, just to make a right hand turn onto Turner st. !

.......well ok, I have read people saying that they think she killed him on purpose, that the mother didnt want her child anymore, that she loved her child & would never hurt a hair on his head etc... So no one can seem to agree on any of those things.
I got from te published info, that this Mom was stressed out during the last 24 hours before the death. She was overheard screaming at her child. Some one also stated that she and her son were seen by ER doc's for an illness. Why did THEY not see her mental condition as being unstable,and unable to care for her sick son?
I can tell you from personal experience that a sick child can be overwhelming and stressful at times, but to not ask for help, or to not go get help is rediculous! I have been there. I have made a call, asked a friend to come over and lend me a hand, when I was stressed out.
My questions are this :
Why was she so far up north? Why did she not call 911. An accidental overdose can be treated before fatality occurrs!
GOD help those who cannot find the light and reach out for help! If there is anyone reading this who is empathic, send prayers and healing energy and light with your thoughts of this young boy, as well as sending them to his friends & family who are in anguish & sorrow now.
My prayers have been with this little guy from the beginning. He did not know why this has happened to him. He has since been encouraged that he IS a good boy, & that it is not his fault, that he is very much loved, & wont be sick anymore, but will be safe from now on. His guardian angels have been with him & have lead him to a place where no one will "be mad" at him anymore.

She was reportedly trying to pass people or cars wanting to get out onto the road or whatever! How tragic! A young woman was run right over! OMG How tolerant are we now? Assault with a dealy weapon should include a motor vehicle.
Sorry to the family of the young woman who was mowed down. And all the people who's vehicles were damaged by this person.
I have an older vehicle, and would not be able to afford autobody repairs if this had happened to ME. I cannot imagine that this African Refuge that is on welfare is going to be able to pay restituion for 8 victoms.

It is nice see the efforts and dignitiy people offering to help making. I too, have two dogs, and when I had to pour every dime I had into ongoing vehicle repairs, it left me with pretty much nothing. I have had to make sacrifices for cash needs because of it.
It kills me to think that people who are in this position would be picked on because of it.
I have had my dogs for 7 years now, and they adore my child, are a part of the family.
We will not give up, we will not let them either go hungry or go to the shelter. I willl do whatever it takes to work through

I am scared to drive still, because some one can cross the center line, any time, for any reason at all, and there may not be another car right there. But, I pray to God,that when I am that other car, who is right there, that my life & my child's life, and dogs, be spared.
It can happen from dropping a piece of gum, a cigarette, changing the radio station, picking up the phone... ahhh many things. I will be even more attentive when driving. Has there been any follow ups? About what was the cause of the accident? Meaning why the driver of the truck was seen speeding and swerving in and out of traffic right before the crash? WAS there a medical condition? Was there a reason he didnt pull over and let the passenger take over?

..... since I brought it up .......... I think that, speed, velocity, opposite dirrections, force of grativy all play a factor in head ons. I have seen many "totaled" vehicles that didnt look half THAT bad as these ones did, who were going at normal rates of speed. (under 35)
even 35 mph can do some serious damage actually. But, if you saw either of these two heaps of metal, it would literally take your breath away. :(
Not sure where the "posible medical issue" came from. Maybe the surving passenger said it? Dont know. But, if you are in an emergency need, you do not weave in and out of traffic hauling a loaded snow mobile trailer speeding down a residential road! You pull over and call 911. That is what's got me curious. That part right there. I am not criticising. I am searching facts & curious about answers.
So, that;s why I posed the question about "what kind of medical issue would cause excessive rates of speeding?" Do you know what I mean? Because there have been a few "medical event" crashes in Maine lately. Some cases it was a one step accident. Meaning, Person swerves, crashes. Done. Sometimes involves another car, sometimes isolated crash into natural surroundings. I am simplifying my description, I know that. But to point out the major difference in the TYPE of crashES that occurred. This was a multiple event series of crashes.. Phew! They will have their work cut out for them, working on this case.

It doesnt cost much for person to photograph their own jewelry and print it at Rite Aid or Walmart, or even their home computer and printer? I am more of a private person. I would not like even photographs of my jewelry some where else but home.
As long as you have something in the photo that idendtifies you as the owner of the piece, you are all set. Unless it has no significant value. If so, either way, still a treasure for the person. And, they can even have an envelope with their name and address on it, driver's licens, next to the piece. There are a few ways to keep the idendity of your jewelry safe. Just sayin' :)

I saw the jeep that was hauled off. It was completely pulverised up to the back seat! The other car was hit so hard it was split in two pieces! WoW! I looked at these photos, and I can only imagine the devastation for those families involved.
That Jeep must have been going mighty fast to have pulverized like that. I dont know what kind of medical condition would cause high rates of speeding. I was told he was swerving in and out of cars. I guess more info will become available soon. I travel that road often with my little girl and two dogs. I pray to God nothing like this ever happens to us. Innocent, driving along, and then BAM! Your'e struck head on. I am a nervous wreck now. :S

If it means, you put on a warm jacked and hat, and just sit there, in a safe distance, than, that's what you do. I have done this, and got to the point where I could handle the cat.
You can do it! :) Please do not make them wander for food. Put the food in a safe location, where they feel they are out of harms way. But, they can still observe you and your actions. ......... is common. Broken arm on a 18 month old IS NOT COMMON. Bruised in the USUAL locations is common as a child is a toddler and explores, and stumbles while playing at getting good walking.
I know of a case where a woman, after following a SUV (with tinted windows)in traffic, into a department store parking lot, claimed they saw a parent beating on their infant in the back seat (while driving) and claims they saw the continued beating after they pulled over and parked adjacent to the SUV.
The cops where there for almost 2 hours!The real story was, that the family dog was stealing the child's McDonald's, and the parent slapped the dog then pulled the dog up front away from the child's food! This witness INISTED that an charge AND arrest happen. The child was forcibly removed from the scene & brought to the emergency room with NO visible signs of injury or tramma, the person was arrested and charged! For slapping their dog, in traffic.
NOW my point, DHS can and will go after to most mundane, cirumstantial bullshit, with no proof whatsoever! NO injury, no tramma, ER cleared the child, DHS agent cleared the parent & child back to home.... But court still wouldnt drop it! Proceedings continued. But they will let stuff like THIS broken arm baby, GO! I dont get it. In case where there IS NOT ABUSE a person gets arrested, and brought to court, humiliated, carries a heavy wieght of something they didnt do.
They are far from perfect. They DO MAKE MISTAKES. They can be mistaken, and cause a family undue burdens and harship, when no crime was ever commited. Then again, can let some things go, where there is EVIDENT sign of injury ocurring, now we have a missing or deceased baby, with a broken arm. It breaks my heart
For those of you, who want to criticise my little rant here : please take the time, to volunteer at the court house. BE there as moral support for someone, or just go, sit and see what goes on there. You will see people in a whirl wind of dispair, trying to get help and searching for answers. You will hear people giving their story of truth, and being told for, the court's convinience sake, to go ahead and plead guilty to things they did not commit. That is why I study law. I am deeply moved by both sides. If you have never been close to some one who has been involved with DHS for ANY reason, then you may need to ~ get some insight ~ before saying much more.
I know of another case where a 3 1/2 year old was being molested by a family friend, in exchange for drugs going to the grandparent. DHS removed the child to one of the child's relatives. The grand mother started visiting there, was left alone w/the child, then the perpetrator began to get back into action, again! I wish I could help all of those children. I wish I could could have sucess and pray for the leaders and protect workes find truth, and pray for guidance for them to search deep within themselves what the truth reall is. And, not make snap judgments out of a personal agenda or need to have a God complex, and just feel for the truth, when they cannot see it plainly.
I am continuing to pray for the victom only right now. I do not know all of the evidence about either parent, so I will not judge any further. I just have questions, and my heart breaks for this child now. If neither parent did any wrong doing, I pray for their strength to get through this.
I mean on offense, but I have spent enough of my free time, in the court, and I know what happens there.

A three year old would have to have a pretty major fall in order to break an arm! When mine was a toddler, they had tumbles all the time (climbing on the couch, getting out off the chair, playing and not paying attention) NORMAL stuff, that kids do. She NEVER broke an arm! I have a question for the Mother : NO contact with your daughter's father because you werent getting along? I could not go THAT long without contact with my child! And I cannot stand my daughter's father. WE dont get along AT all! Hell, I cannot even stand being away from my child while they are having an ovenight visit with theier Dad, coming home the next day. I am on the phone with my child throughout their visit. I do not let go of my child, just because they are with their Dad.
Alot of questions here. Another one for the Dad : how can some one go an entire night, into late morning, without checking on thier small child, one time? What was he doing to keep him from seeing if his child was sleeping or not througout the night? Kids that age are up waaaaay before 9 am! She was awake at 7:30 am or so, and with some one! Who has her!

the victom had a phone, was calling 911 and her friend ran out the door to call for help? This does not sit right with me. Something is missing.
then I read "He thought I was dead," Swift said, and he left." But, why this .. "She somehow made it up to the fourth floor of the building, looking for help." the attacker has left the apartment, the friend has let the apartment, and now the victim has left the apartment.
Ending up with the victim on the 4th floor inches from death's door,when 911 had been called. Where did the friend go? Did or didnt they reach help? No one came back to check on their friend who was being attacked? Did dispatch send ERS, or did the friend get them sent? Or did the 4th floor neighbor call?
This is a horrible crime. She is lucky to have survived such a brutal attack. I pray for the victim and her child. And for those who are supporting the victim through this.

I still feel that it is possible to send the rear ended car into traffic, due to the fact that it doesnt take much to push past the bright yellow. Only a couple feet, and B O O M ! So, sad, that this has happened. Like you said though, is good to be dilligent about stopping to turn on a high speed area such as this one. There have been too many fatalities there. Some from passing cars, some from people not paying attention, and rear ending some one.
I was just out there today. I was a nervous wreck driving, but I didnt need to make any stops and left turns. I would rather pull over to the right. And wait till all clear, BOTH WAYS! :) Pull back out, going back the way I came, then again, pulling to the right shoulder, then making my turn from there. Seems like alot doesnt it? Gosh uh? wow
Pretty bad that we have to pass our left turn, and pull over to the right some where to go back the opposite dirrection, drive up to our turn, pull over to the right, to safely slow down in the break down lane, to make the turn... oh boy! But, ya know, I want to be safe. I cannot garrentee that the person scooting down the high way, is going to notice me stopped in front of them. So, I will do what I have to do, take the extra time. I have a better night, driving past my turn, and going back safely to pull over, than spending a night in the ER, or the next day pushing up daisies.

My little girl thinks he looks like a Princess's horse (like in her Princess stories, "they look just like him", she tells me) Well, except for the missing embroidered silk & velvet tapestries, with jewels & beads hanging down. Hee hee Hmm, maybe a sunny day photo op for us, sometime soon? We will have to keep SJS posted on that. :)

What a tradgedy. I wish it was reported WHAT caused the police to be there. I read it said "domestic" issue. That was it. I agree with all the comments made in March of this year by every one. That deadly force should only be used when no other option is viable.
I have read people state they can shoot the person to "disable" them, & disarm them. True! YES~ why not?

But just so people know, there are spay/neuter programs to help people with this.. All you have to do is ask your local shelter. True, that there are many cats at shelters who need homes NOW. hear breaking

This is abosolutely true. Many people dont realize a 2 minute check over your body or your pet's will save you alot of pain and aggrevation.
A friend of mine, who has been complaining about being sick for weeks, finally went and got checked. He was told he contracted Lime Disease. He was given some horse pills. Then was still sick the next week with upper respiratory. So they told him he had Broncitis. They gave him antibiotics or something. He was still sick a week after that, and they told him he had "fluid on the lungs" sent him home with an Oxygen Tank! Not sure WHT is going on with all that.
I hate blood sucking insects. I check my dogs every single day. And we are not in a higly populated tick environment, but still, need to check them. I have recently learned that there are some flea meds, that only cover adult fleas. Others are more effective that will cover, flea, ticks, flea larvae, flea eggs. This will make a huge impact on the continous un ending cycle. Vacuming alone doesnt cut it. We need a flea med that works. So, that the adults will not be given on going blood meals and be all happy to produce MORE! ahh gosh, I am so groced out right now. yuck!

Murder seems to be on the uprise around here this year. The man who came up from out of state to kill his X in front of her young children, is one of the most spineless ones I have heard of in a long time! Well, actually the matchetee wielding son of a *B* who attemepted to kill a family of four to steal from them. BRUTAL! again another horrible memory for that family. Although the mother bailed out the window, while her husband and daughter were being slaughtered alive. She might not have seen quite as much as the two victims did.
ahhhh God, I need to find away to let some of this go. It is hard, when you feel for these victims the way some of do. Prayers of healing and light towards those vicitims families are still going up, from here.

A woman from NH dropped off her 5 year old's D.B. on a rural road this Spring. We all went crazy trying to determine WHO this beautiful child was... It was quite the frenzy, untill a witness came forward, after spotting the murder's vehicle at a rest stop, thought it was supsicious, called it in. hmm horribly sad
And a couple of months ago, YES another D.B. was found in a basement, behind some boxes. The person had been there, and missing for two weeks! The guy had admitted to a AA sponsor, and the both of them kept it secret for two weeks. Sickening!

The Salvation Army is a National Non Profit Organization. They need to answer to more than just the friendly faces you see in person. They served there for a long time. I KNOW they will miss their patrons, know this for a fact.
I agree, with the change. I think it will be best to have each one work independently. They each have their own special quallities to offer.
And a warming center will always be a warming center. Regardless if it comes with hot lunch or not. The needs will still be met. There are plently of people looking for work right now. Even volunteer jobs are scarce. So, as far as getting people to work, dont worry about that. The bodies just pile up for that. The whole thing is very odd. I was just tossing some ideas out there. To be a good investigator, you look at all combined facts. The obvious ones, the not so obvious ones. And the redundant and seemingly non relavent stuff too! So, with that, you get more info trickling in.
Sometimes people want more than the basic facts. Sometimes people want to find a way to get more answers, so to lay to rest years of heartache and questions. Compassion is part of that search through the facts.

IS there a new law that says private afidavits for an ongoing case, due for arreingments are allowed to be published or public? I never knew.
I have helped people over the years as a VOLUNTEER legal advocate, and I was never aware that it was considered public information. Especially in cases that are considered to be CRIMINAL. You cannot get POLICE REPORTS, for example, unless done through an attorney in a MOTION TO REQUEST DISCOVERY.
I am relieved to see the document has been removed here. I think it is best. I dont know if family or friends can bear to read all those details surrounding their loved one's death.
Any one who is picked for jury duty, if trial is chosen at the initial hearing, instead of guilty plea, they will be sided, from having read this detailed information about the case.

ahmm, does it say here that Crowel is considering the FIRE CHIEF position? or that the person doing INTERIM will do that? Geof Lowe? It says "HE" will fill that position, but Lowe's name in the same context . as the person who has been filling in that position.
And the POLICE CHIEF is going to do the CITY MANANGER position?
Now it says :the finance director position is still vacant" but then it says it says that some one was hired for that position!
So, IS the FINANCE DIRRECTOR position vacant? OR DID they hire somebody for it? This is very confusing! Normally if a job is open, then some one is hired for the position,that means there is no longer an opening!

I just realized, I was just reading something over the Summer, about three other women who were found dead, in New England. The mother of one of the victims, sent up balloons in memory sake. The three woman, were found to have been involved with escort service, and traveling to do it.
I feel heart broken about this turn of events. I dont know if anyone knows about those other deaths?

I am SERVERELY allergic to SUMAC
I would like people to be aware, this is NOT a tree. It is a weed. It takes over lawns, chokes beautiful maple, and other trees. I have chopped down a sumac tree in our back yard. And, the stinking thing keeps coming up all over the danged lawn! I sawed off the roots, I sawed off whatever was coming up from roots out of the ground.
The new ones were popping up 10-20 feet away from the main tree/roots! This is a disease to me. They are growing, like weeds along every road in Auburn. Kids go back and forth everyday, by the huge flocks of sumac tree up and down court street Auburn, by Auburn Middle School. Dont people realize these tree are allergens?
I am told the ones with the red pollen sacks on them are not "poisonous" The OTHER Sumac tress ARE poisonous. YES THEY ARE! to many people.
The one where I live, does not have the red pollen sack. I didnt realize it was Sumac, untill I had a flas rash on my face one day. I had picked up a stick in the yard, tossed it into the bushes. I swiped my hair out of my face. The next day BAM! Days later I had to go to the emergency room for a prescription emergency action. It was incredibly painful. I couldnt sleep, or do alot of things.
Please keep in mind, if you own property where public acesses, please cut the danged weeds down, before they become a tree, and spawn all over the place. This is a health hazzard, in my opinion. I know a few other people who, also cringe whenever they groves of Sumac trees along the side of the road.

I was breath., well, I lost , ahmm this is a horrible thing. I just held my breath, while I read the part where there were several other family members in the home, who fled.
It pretty creepy for a person to go into a home of a kid some one be friended and visited, to go in, steal, and murder the entire family. This was the obvious intent.
I know as a Mother, I do not know if I would flee the scene, where my husband was just attacked, my daughter lay on the floor dying, and leave my other daughter in the home, to possibly be brutally murdered.
I just cannot see it, I cannot see myself, doing this. Despite my horror! I AM trying to put myself in her shoes.
I am also smart enough to know, that I cannot take a chance on being killed myself, to be there for the other survirors (of the attempted masacre.)
But, I really do believe, in my heart, that I would do whatever I could to save my children. I know a machettte is a long bladed weapon, is kinda hard to defend yourself against that. But, I hope to God there would be a way, some how..

I will admit, I hate it down there. I do not live there. I have a relative who does, and the things I have seen are rediculous. I saw a little girl maybe 3 yrs old, walking around a parking lot, on knox street, with her little brother. She has no shoes on, no shirt on, just diaper and pants. She was beautiful! No parent, sitting on the steps, observing. NO ONE I looked up and down the street, not one human in sight! NOBODY!
*P* go cruise up and down the streets looking for young children all alone. There seems to be a nice selection too, while their parents are inside drinking or druggin it up. They do not care who watches their kids, even if it IS a *P* ! At least they are not buggin them. I am sickened. The kids were gone 15 minutes later. I did not know what to do, to call police? go over to the unmanned police station?
What I DID do, is pray for the little girl and boy.

I have no idea what is going on with street drugs. I mean WHY on God's green Earth, would some one "lace" something mild, with something toxic. I have heard of it over the years. And, quite frankly, never understood it. sickening to say the least

If you think the parking and walking is a problem for access, what do you think the 2 mile walk will be for all the people who have been going to this location all along witll have to do? What about cheaper cab fares, because of the closer milleage?
Why would the Y go from 1 1/2 acres to 92 acres and a house? This is not a good thing. I am very close friends with almost every family who lives on the property or near it. This will be devastating to them. This is an agricultural part of Auburn, and is one of the oldest settlements in Auburn. There is are surrounding hay fields, that provide food for the cattle in the area, as well as for horses near by.
The people who live in this area are barely making by. They love their family and animals. I am not sure they will be able to afford the expected tax increases, and all the traffic. What will happen to the hay fields? Is this part of the property the Y bought? Why? Why take all of it! Why not just take what you need, and leave the rest.
OMG this is not good at all.. I need to get in my car, and drive over there to see how everybody is doing with this! (that live in that area) I live 3 minutes from the current Y location. Yes parking can be a pain in the butt. However the distance away is rediculous. I am NOT happy about this, not at all. Maybe I need some more facts. But, a few people who live on North River road, have already started to panic, and now there are three houses up for sale already! Wait till they hear this!

Listen, the people who shoot their mouth off the loudest,
are usually the ones who DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PUT THEMESELF'S IN OTHERS SHOES, ok? :)
I know that for example, a court appointed attorney, gets little to no pay at all. So, they do not always want to spend much time on a case. Sad to say, but it depends on the person, and their compassion or empathy level. In Maine, there is no EXPUNGE there is only Pardon. As you may already know. So, a person does not get erased, they only get "forgiven" for the crime they were convicted of. And, getting a pardon is almost impossible in this state too! I have been curious about this over the years, and I have researched it a little bit. Apparently less than 20% of people who apply for a pardon, actually get one.
This is very discrouraging, to say the least, to many people affected by 911 security check requirements. Because people may have held down the same job for 15 years or more, and get canned because of the "new back ground check requirement" And, for all the critics out there? Even if you have a college degree, or a license or certificate in a certain field or job, you will STILL NOT GET HIRED with felony record. So, even though you do not live like a crimminal, you will be forced to anyway, and be treated as a crimminal.
Now I am only speaking from my experience with people who have minor crimminal records. I am not talking about persons who, for example : pose a threat to the public safety, including or especially children. These things would include extremely violent crimes or harming children etc.
So, I do not know John, what else can be done.. It is surely nice to see that someone is now paying attention around here! Thank you to the Caree Center! All you can do bud, is just keep your head up high, keep making yourself the best person you can be, and dont give up. No one wants to hear the person's story, it seems. And, they need to start! Open your minds up people.
Open your hearts. Give people the chance, to prove you right? If that's how you see it, go ahead. They may just prove you wrong, & be one of the best workers, most devoated, & most greatful employee you have ever had! :)

Did you ever think of the fact that people make mistakes, that should not follow you for the rest of your life? Did you ever hear anything that goes on in a court room? Did you know every single person heading into to a hearing where they plead guilty or not guilty, is handed a PLEA DEAL? Whether you are guilty or not, you are being askd to do what is quicker, and easier for the state of Maine!
I know for an absolute fact, that many people have been urged to plead guilty with the threat of jail time over their head! So, they just do it, and get it over with, go home with a fine, probation, jail time suspended.
Believe it or not, there ARE people out there busting their but to provide a life for their children and themselves (with an old record) who made the wrong choice out of fear and ignorrance! Give them a break, let them work. I am saddened by the cruelty.
One final note, read up on list. Read the list of "felony charges" considered by our Federal Governemt, and you will see some pretty stupid, petty stuff in there. Trust me on this, you will be surprised. Maybe you or some one you know has done some foolish things, AND NEVER GOT CAUGHT! Well, now look what a mess we have here.

KARMA, means equal pay/reward for equal kindness/deed, and or equal punishment for equal bad acts.
A near fatality is NOT KARMA. Something needs to be done about kids breaking into places. Something also needs about why kids would go to such extremes to get alchohol. Looking into that would be a better way to prevent or educate. Poisoning is not the deterent needed.

I heard of a story where a guy who hates his neighbor's cats, who boasted about putting out bowls of antifreeze to "solve the problem" he has also shot at cats too. I do not know who this person is, or I would be calling the police. The person who told me about, will not reveal who the criminal is either!

Does anti freeze get you drunk? Does the parent's think they were "extremely drunk? There is not alot of info. here. If the boys were conscious, they could have been questioned.
This does not add up! But, even if the home owner, was suspicious of some one breaking into his booze stash, this is NOT the way to do it! This is cruetly for punishment, at no other level. I would remove my booze stash, or set up a danged camera. NOT poison kids! OMG

I have two large dogs, not pits, but wieghing more... I have had to keep strict protocol with my dogs, because of having a small child in my home.. They KNOW their place without question. I cannot speak for other dog owners.
But, a couple of times, in the beginnng, when my dog got out of line, I did the same thing, I pinned his but to the floor, held him there, and waited till he knew to knock it the hell off. He only got aggitated. I do not allow even that. So, animals will be animals, always unpredictable. But, honestly, I like to know my odds with my animals.
I reduce the risk. But, again, not every one can or knows how, or even wants to bother. Most times, if a dog shows agression, it is returned upon the animal. In other words, the dog will be beaten or whatever for it. Guess what THAT results in? More aggession. Tickng bom..
Well, I hope that the dog will be trained some more, and people will also become more aware of the warning signs on either side of the bite.
A growing form of predjudice
......... I have seen some one doing this: Where a dog owner was teaching their dog to not like black people. This couple gets their dog all cranked up whenever they see a black person going by. A few times, I was in the area, and saw them deliberately let their dog loose, and said "get em get em!" Like that... Then they all laugh as the dog chases down the passerby....
Are people so intolerant now of the newest immigrants, that they cannot at least offer common respect and safety to let others pass by?. Just because we do not all think allike doesnt mean cruetlty and predjudice is accpetable.
A big banner hung proudly on a church in Auburn says something like this : "we may not all think alike, but we can love alike" WELL SAID! tolerance, freedom, accpetance needs to grow more around here.

I dont understand. Ok, so what if a person's dog in their home or friend;s home, attacks a kid. The parent of the kid would be charged with something no doubt! Like cruetly or oh I dont know! ahhh am frustrated now.

Ok, I know I may be taking a risk by saying this, but here goes : I personally have met many people who own dangerous pit bulls. They are some what abusive or totally abusive to their dogs, in turn the dogs are viscous or unpredictable! So, now, none of them, have ever registered their or vaccinated their dogs. They did not ever take any responsiblity for the dog, except to walk around town looking all tough and everything. Thinking they are a bad-ass or something.
It's the owner's mentality that leads to dog attacks. Regardless of breed, but most of the time the ones who are viscous have owners, who, like I said, do not take responsibility for their dogs! Hey people! Go to PETQUARTERS! They have rabies vaccination clinics! No office charge... Keep safe And be nice to your dogs, so they will be nice to people, while u r in public... my dog is NOT a bad-ass, he is a lovable poochie, who is vacinated! :)

I have driven that 5 days a week, and have a friend in the area. I have seen countless times where people walk down the middle of the street. Kids running abound with no adult in sight, like Robbin said.
I have seen people so many times, as I am scootin along my green light .... just boom, walk right out in front of my damn car! I locked up my breaks soooooooooo many times! Yes it is a pain in the but, but I try to watch for it, like Cathy said.
But since I was not there, I cannot say what happened. I just know that is hard to get around down town when people see you coming and walk right out in front of a moving car like that. It nerve wracking driving there for me. Because some one was about to cross the street, and did that one other time, the driver in front of me locked up THEIR brakes without warning, I slammed into their ass end! B O O M !
Another time, I was in tight traffic, and a guy ran a red light, did a left turn in front of the car in front of me, she almost T boned the jerk, she locked up her breaks, and B O O M ! I slid into her ass end. Lovely x--x Dude that ran the red light, that caused the accident? Kept goin, of course

........ but it really hurts when you are doing the best you can to get by, and make your life better for yu and your child, being as honest and straight forward as possible.... I had been very greatful for any of the help I got, & desparately needed it! ..... then BOOOM! get slammed by the hammer down.
At the time this happened, I was told by a few people who had some some compassion and empathy for the sitation, that the DHS acted like I was some kind of crimminal or something. When there really are crimminals getting away with ludicrice stuff! It stinks, plain and simple.
Give people a break who are really trying hard, & being up front about any challenges, and spend your "make'm pay or else" attitude towards people who are blatenly disregarding the laws of the system. This is just to let readers know, that NOT all welfare recipiants are frauders ok? gheesh :(
state worker managing benefits
well, if some one doesnt even drive, have a license, or a car, then why the helll did the state worker give this woman vehicle repair money!? Gosh! I have both,&I cannot get any help w/my vehicle repairs. I could not work enough hours to quallify for the state minimum of benefits. I had child sickness days out, tons of snow days out of work, lost the brakes in my car, a fuel line leak etc. Even though I had legitimate documents, I was screwed for hours at my job.
So, guess what? They took my young child out of day care, refused to pay for the time my child was in, (that week) and shut off any vehicle repair requests! NO NOTICE given! BAMMMMM! so some body IS doing their job at the DHS. Just devastated me and my child. Lost my job & have a dangerous vehicle in need of emergency repairs.
MY point? Good people, honest to the letter, are getting hurt, and NOT being given a little leaway, when needed. And, people who lie and decieve or did, get away with this crap for so long. (along with many more like this) My child was devastated to loose all her friends & teachers, that she had known most of her young life. Is having some detatchment and transition issues because of it too. :(
I gave detailed proof, on the days i missed work, to my worker. Garrage reciepts for auto parts etc, day care holiday closings etc. All of it was legit, and I was STILL CUT (by the supervisor). No empathy or compassion, was even offered in my case. I was at work, when she blasted me with the bomb,& she actually expected me to finish out my day & my work week there too! (of course with out child care, bring my 4 yr old to work?)
I was in tears, about how this would affect my little child. I did the best I could, was having one hardhip after another.

ohh! ok, thank you for the clarification. I got confused I guess I wasnt paying attention. It grabbed my attention when I read that they arrested him at court for the drug charges. I thought he would have had those charges filed along the same time as the theft of the tractor.

... extent of the law! And, even our animal abuse laws are pretty wrist slappy! Really sad. This animal was cut by sharp knives, I would be very careful who gets to adopt him. No one wants to see him get into the hands of another abuser or even the same abuser for a little retaliation.
The trauma this poor 6 month old recieved is heart wrenching. I have prayed for his recovery. And many prayers to the gentle kinds hands who treated him at the ERV and the H.S. as well. It is a tough job to work in a place like that. Alot of not so happy stories. Very demanding on one's heart and takes alot of personal strength.

Y E S ! it is a problem there, when you are be boppping along, trying to get home, or get to your child's school or daycare to pick them up on time, and you have to brake quickly every time some one slows down to almost a dead stop, just to make a right hand turn onto Turner st. !
It is a pain in the neck, to say the least. People take forever to make their turn, then the people behind them take forever to get going again behind them, then the people behind them are slowed down too! Just seems to be a huge nuisance there.
Even just cutting into the lawn at the back side of the bank would be enough to resolve this problem.

.......well ok, I have read people saying that they think she killed him on purpose, that the mother didnt want her child anymore, that she loved her child & would never hurt a hair on his head etc... So no one can seem to agree on any of those things.
I got from te published info, that this Mom was stressed out during the last 24 hours before the death. She was overheard screaming at her child. Some one also stated that she and her son were seen by ER doc's for an illness. Why did THEY not see her mental condition as being unstable,and unable to care for her sick son?
I can tell you from personal experience that a sick child can be overwhelming and stressful at times, but to not ask for help, or to not go get help is rediculous! I have been there. I have made a call, asked a friend to come over and lend me a hand, when I was stressed out.
My questions are this :
Why was she so far up north? Why did she not call 911. An accidental overdose can be treated before fatality occurrs!
GOD help those who cannot find the light and reach out for help! If there is anyone reading this who is empathic, send prayers and healing energy and light with your thoughts of this young boy, as well as sending them to his friends & family who are in anguish & sorrow now.
My prayers have been with this little guy from the beginning. He did not know why this has happened to him. He has since been encouraged that he IS a good boy, & that it is not his fault, that he is very much loved, & wont be sick anymore, but will be safe from now on. His guardian angels have been with him & have lead him to a place where no one will "be mad" at him anymore.

... people. I know many who are making it through life the best they can, and are giving kind people who are patient, and working on an education or work searching. There are many who are dealing with disabitlities and struggling w/them while trying to get by. Not everybody is this way. Sometimes there are those who do not appreciate a darn thing that they are given and always expect more.

.... for the school kids!? I remember this one, I have spoken to people who there! This was a Somalian woman, who was seen waiting and getting impatient. She was reportedly trying to pass people or cars wanting to get out onto the road or whatever! How tragic! A young woman was run right over! OMG How tolerant are we now? Assault with a dealy weapon should include a motor vehicle.
Sorry to the family of the young woman who was mowed down. And all the people who's vehicles were damaged by this person.
I have an older vehicle, and would not be able to afford autobody repairs if this had happened to ME. I cannot imagine that this African Refuge that is on welfare is going to be able to pay restituion for 8 victoms.

Families with pets are in great need
It is nice see the efforts and dignitiy people offering to help making. I too, have two dogs, and when I had to pour every dime I had into ongoing vehicle repairs, it left me with pretty much nothing. I have had to make sacrifices for cash needs because of it.
It kills me to think that people who are in this position would be picked on because of it.
I have had my dogs for 7 years now, and they adore my child, are a part of the family.
We will not give up, we will not let them either go hungry or go to the shelter. I willl do whatever it takes to work through
