Sounds like there's no reason, at all, to hold her at Riverview...Granted she committed a homicide, but a treatable medical condition caused the delirium.
With psych beds at a premium in Maine, medical patients should be held elsewhere, if at all.
The guy was railroaded from day one...The public demanded quick justice back then, and the prosecutors were happy to oblige.
From what I've read, the evidence was weak, at best. And Dechaine was considered to be disposable because he was a hard-drug user.
DD deserves a new trial, and compensation after he's found not guilty at that trial.
