I have worked in several different fields, Accounting, Construction, Food service, Sales, and even Industrial production. Some would think this was a liability and hide some of the facts. Yet with the success I have had in each of these fields I choose to shout it from the mountain tops.
From running a 2500 pound steam boiler to running a Chinese restaurant I have supervised hired and trained hundreds of people so they could fill my shoes affording me the chance to move up the ladder of success.
I have resided on both coasts of the United States and from the top of the Rocky Mountains to the heart of Texas. I even had a two and a half year stay in Europe. I will be happy no matter my location. My family and I have learned that it's what we make of where we are that makes us happy not what our location makes of us. There are challenges everywhere we go, we see these challenges’ as successes in their infancy.
I have testified at the State House, Voiced radio commercials and been seen on television. My voice has been heard around the world and millions have read my words. From driving cattle on a cattle drive through the mountains of Colorado, to building twenty eight story high rises in London I have never backed down from a challenge. With my constant desire to learn I know there is nothing I can’t do if I have the tools and the time.
I have worked with some of the most amazing people from Aksel Nielsen close friend and financial adviser to President Dwight D. Eisenhower, to the founder of Denny’s restaurants as well as the brain child behind Pizza Hut. I have trained people who could not speak the same language as me and helped teach people how to manage others and get the best out of each and every employee no matter their personality type.
My career is to have a life full of learning, teaching and experiences that are endless and as varied as this world has to offer. I am looking for opportunities I have never thought of, as well as the chance to use the knowledge I have gained over the years to do what I have done even better than I did it the first time.

don’t have a choice as to whether or not you pay a ”fair share
Everyone in the country has cut back in the last few years weather it's skipping a night out or not buying new shoes everyone is tighting there belt.
All we are asking is that they cut their fair share, when it's unions collecting it is fair share but when it comes to the union cutting it is a crime against humanity.
unfunded mandates of Medicare would be funded that's part A B C
The government confiscates 32 tons of marijuana from tunnel under a patrolled boarder stop.
let’s look at this a moment.
...There are
35,840 ounces in a ton.
Each ounce sales at between
$400 and $600 dollars an ounce.
For our purpose we will say each ounce costs $350
35,840 ounces at $350 = 12,544,000
taxed at 7% =$ 878,080 in tax revenue
At this moment $45,508,251,944.00 spent on Drug war. This year
legalizing Marijuana = $45,509,130,024.00 tax dollars ...saved.
Do this for ten years and all of the unfunded mandates of Medicare would be funded that's part A B C and D all funded in ten years or less.
Is marijuana a gate way drug? Is Beer a gateway to hard liqueur? I don't know the answers to either but prohibition does not work.

Ben,
My relationship with mr Jenkins has been addressed several times. Do you have anything new?
Benedictator What is that about.
Also I posted that information because the first comment on the page was someone asking for reasons to vote for a candidate and not just disparage others. It appears that you are of the name calling group. You don't know me and if I sat down next to you at the coffee shop you would not know who I am.
I hope this makes you happy it was posted to Facebook four time in the last three months.
became a friend of John Jenkins a couple of years ago. I have seen firsthand what he has and can do for the people of Maine.
In our many conversations, John expressed that with all he that he has done, he still feels he could do more. I naturally said, “Well if you were governor, you could do what you already do, just bigger, and it would affect everyone in the State of Maine, not just the people of the Lewiston/Auburn area.”
John would always say that “If I was a millionaire, I would be happy to spend every penny I have to get the chance to serve the people of Maine.”
Seeing how John was paid a whopping $4,000 for his first term as the Auburn Mayor, millionaire status has been postponed.
Ben do you need me to start every comment with a disclaimer. If so please start all your comment with who you support. If you can't tell that my previous comment was from a John Jenkins supporter then you might want to have someone read the comments to you and explain what they mean.
John Jenkins
John Jenkins was raised in the ghettos of New Jersey. There was no father providing support, financial or otherwise. John was raised by a single mother who trusted in God. She knew her son needed more than what the street could provide when she was at work so she enrolled him in Boy Scouts and karate classes. John was at one of these classes when his best friend was shot dead in gang violence while standing on the same corner where John had been just five minutes earlier.
Even back then people could see something special in John. He was admitted to a program that took promising young men from the mean streets of the New Jersey ghetto and then dropped them into an urban area. One morning John was in Jersey the next he was in of all places, Lewiston Maine.
John was honored to have an opportunity to go to Bates College where he took the respect he had learned during karate and applied it in his new surroundings. John grew beyond the street kid he was born to be and became an articulate positive role model for an entire community.
Although John was attending Bates collage with some help from the program, he was in a position where he would need more money than the program could provide. It was that fact that inspired John to open a successful karate studio in Lewiston.
During his years at Bates College John had grown to love his adopted home of Lewiston Maine. Upon graduation John decided to make Maine his permanent home. In the years that followed John was running the karate studio in Lewiston and becoming the World Karate Champion four times as well as World Jujitsu Champion once. Inspiring generations of Mainers to reach higher, push harder, and be more positive in the worst of times.
Although the trophies and all were great, John was doing many other things like coat drives and food drives and getting people in the community working together to make things better for everyone.
Just over a decade ago the people in the Lewiston area suggested that seeing how John was already serving the community like he was, he should make it official. They convinced John to run for Mayor of Lewiston Maine. He did so, and he won.
In his first term as mayor, he made no increase in taxes and in his second term he lowered taxes. In fact, by the middle of his second term John was doing so well the democratic party of Maine asked John to run for Maine State Senator, so he did, and he won.
Then when John was in the Senate, he voted what he believed was best for the people of Maine. Only after talking to the people of Maine who told him what they needed. When John didn’t vote on party lines the democrats started attacking him. They were giving him notice in all the papers about his attendance record. He was Mayor of Lewiston and Senator at the same time and his own party was attacking him for what turned out to be an 82% attendance record. His attendance as Mayor of Lewiston was 100%. John was holding down a job working for Unum at the same time.
After this experience, John changed his voter registration to Independent and proceeded to make a living as a public speaker for the next several years, John was a citizen of Lewiston and Auburn doing what he does—serving his community and giving back at every chance he could.
When nearly ten years later, the people of Auburn decided they didn’t want the current Mayor to fulfill his term. Some of the citizens of Auburn asked John if he would run for the position, so he did, and he won.
He served a half a term as Auburn Mayor avoiding raising taxes; at the end of that short term, John was going back to being a working stiff and leaving the politics to the people who can afford to be politicians.
However, the people of Auburn said,”Whoa buddy, not so fast. We don’t care if you’re running or not. We’re voting for you.” A write-In campaign was started, and John won the election. He served as Mayor of Auburn and lowered taxes in his second term.
1. Now that’s all well and good, but what about John Jenkins “the person?” The John Jenkins I know Will stand next to a ladies cart at Wal-Mart because she needs to go back into the store to use the restroom. She knows she can trust John so much that she asked him to help out. How many two time mayors would even be shopping at Wal-Mart in the first place, but on top of that, “the gall” of that woman to ask a 4 term mayor and one time state senator to watch her cart—are you kidding me? That woman knew that John was the type of person who would be willing to help and she felt completely at ease knowing his character and reputation for being someone who is willing to help others—he is so approachable that this woman didn’t even hesitate to ask John in her time of urgent need.
John is the type of person who will take time at five o-clock on a Wednesday evening right in the heat of the campaign and ask my son how he did in his forth ever karate class.
If you were to walk down the poorest street of either Lewiston or Auburn with John at your side you would see people coming out to greet him and share how John has made a positive difference in their lives by direct action or simply by being an inspiration. John is known as an open and approachable person who has a friendly ear to all. John says “Some of the best ideas come from the people living in the situation, all the expert reports in the world are nice but until you sit and talk to the people you don’t know what they need.”
John and I don’t see eye to eye on everything though. I have been a registered Republican all my life and I go to one of the most conservative churches in Maine. The point is that John and I have sat down and discussed our differences and we respect that we disagree on some things. I also know that John will do what the people of Maine want. Gay marriage was voted on and until it is voted on again the people made their decision regardless of his own personal opinion. John will freely listen to your opinion and be open to discussion when he offers his own opinion.
not have included him
We need to stop letting the rich and privileged people run the state of Maine.
The two party stalemate must end if Maine is going to move forward.
The other candidates have each spent over a million dollars trying to get your vote. Some have spent over a million and a half of the tax payers money to get elected the others either already had it borrowed the money. Or they had $750.00 a plate fund raisers. Trust me the average Mainer was not at that fund raiser.
The reason John is not a millionaire is because he has given back so much, the fact John’s campaign that has him polling in third place without spending over $200.00 dollars now that’s the type of person who should be running the state of Maine.
There are a lot of unanswered question here?
Let's see a show of hand how many people here would let their spouse buy a house they didn't know about?
How many people would claim to live in Florida to avoid over $100,000 in tuition?
How many people asked how many times the LePage family voted.
Paul LePage had his daughter with Florida residency to save money yet she openly posted on Facebook that she voted in Maine?
Where did Paul LePage's Wife vote in the primaries?(the paper notes that this year, in July, Ann LePage was re-issued a Maine driver’s license) There are a lot of unanswered question here?
Because you asked?
I am not sure why you think no one looked at the election law. In fact on the State website it showed the the candidate should declare by the Friday before the election. On August 11th the state web site was updated with the NEW law stating the a candidate must declare 45 days before the election.
I personal take responsibility for not checking the state website daily after the first of August. I personal sent John Jenkins the information off the state website prior to the eleventh of August and if he was miss informed that was entirely my fault.
There was no effort to collect signatures: People started collecting signatures on their own because they had friend and supporters who don't have Facebook. These signatures are not legally binding in any way nor were they required to become a write candidate.
As far as throwing away a vote: Far to many good people have laid down there lives to ensure that the people of the United States have a right to vote. to think even one of those votes is wasted does a disservice to the good people who have and now currently serve this great country. The only wasted vote is the one someone is allowed and they choose not to use.
What legal or factual information are you using to determine that John Jenkins doesn't have a prayer? Seeing how you mentioned that he does not have a prayer am I to assume that you have a direct line to God and you are his spokesman here on earth?
Negative relations with the republican candidate: I have not had relations with said candidate. No John or myself have not had a meeting with the other campiagns. Not one!
Who benefits? Your right it's not John Jenkins it's THE PEOPLE OF MAINE:
Yes I am from Winslow: This is not about me but if you would like to make it about me call me on November 4th, I will tell you all about me then.
You seem to want to elect a man who doesn't even own property in the state of Maine I would rather elect someone who has some skin in the game. Not someone who is going to move to Florida as soon as there term is over.
Up north
You do realize that John Jenkins has spoken in every (yes every school) school in the state of Maine?
People my not remember John Jenkins but they will always remember the Karate Man.
should have followed the process
As told by John Jenkins
As an Independent Candidate, at this point in the process, the only remote option left is a successful write-in campaign (like my last election for Auburn Mayor).
With five successful campaigns under my belt, I understand what it takes to win and more importantly I highly value what it takes to serve and lead.
This type of campaign will be totally financed and generated by the people.
I realize that this campaign and eventual win will have significant reverberations beyond Maine. I experienced a small bit of this national reverberation with our successful Mayoral write-in.
I guess it's like the saying of Coach Walt Slovenski - 'The People's Choice' which has been one my tag lines for every campaign (i.e. John Jenkins for Governor, Maine's Voice-The People's Choice).
This late consideration to run is in large part due to the ever increasing requests I continue to get from every venue (totally unsolicited). Unbeknownst to me, many have enthusiastically watched the results of my services as: Lewiston Mayor, Maine State Senator and Auburn Mayor.
While a slate of candidates are registered to be on the ballot, people are looking for something or someone who has more experience combining business, community and policy.
Now in my own words:
In our many conversations, John expressed that with all he that he has done, he still feels he could do more. I naturally said, “Well if you were governor, you could do what you already do, just bigger, and it would affect everyone in the State of Maine, not just the people of the Lewiston/Auburn area.”
John would always say that “If I was a millionaire, I would be happy to spend every penny I have to get the chance to serve the people of Maine.”
Seeing how John was paid a whopping $4,000 for his first term as the Auburn Mayor, millionaire status has been postponed.
The page was started because every time I go out in public with John, people interrupt our conversation to tell John how much he has helped them. Even when we were in my van, people would pull up next to us at the stoplights and yell from their car to mine and ask “John when are you going to run for governor?”
Where do you get your facts??
This is the first ever post on the Draft John Jenkins FB page.
Dear Friends,
I sincerely appreciate the ever-increasing requests to allow my name to be submitted as a write-in candidate as an Independent for Maine Governor. Even with successful experience as Lewiston Mayor, Maine State Senator, and Auburn Mayor, I remain a regular working class citizen who, like most Mainers, has to work two or more jobs to keep afloat.
This endeavor will be a daunting task at which I’m prepared to succeed; to do so will require a true mandate from The People. To this end, we need to register 5,000 Facebook fans of John Jenkins in 45 days, starting Monday, August 30, 2010, and ending Wednesday, October 13, 2010. This feat will certainly reflect The Will of The People.
Success as a write-in candidate is not impossible. Many of you know of our successful historic Auburn Mayoral election where, as a write-in candidate, I received more votes than the combined total of the other candidates. The People spoke, and history was made. With your help, and that of those you know, we can do it again.
Details of my principles and policies will be forthcoming.
Thank you and I look forward to your responses.
Yours In Serving The Public,
The Honorable John Jenkins
I am not sure where your facts fit in to that I do not know?
Also If you think the only people who should run are the people with all the cash then you missed the whole point of the United states of America. The only reason there will be a large expense with the write-in count is because the money boys and lawyers for the parties will question each and every vote over and over adding to the cost.
If the only reason you can come up with not to vote for a write-in is the cost then you have a very week argument because they don't have to count every vote they only need to look at the ones the computer notates as a write-in box being checked.
Why didn't he just throw his hat in the ring with the rest

Also I have never written a letter to the editor so I have no clue what your talking about there.
I have only responded to the innuendo that was written by the two Bob's. Yes implying there is an inappropriate relationship between John Jenkins and my self when you have no clue who I am is innuendo.
Held to a higher standard
Bob,
I think it is awesome that you want John Held to a higher standard the the leaders in the State House, That just tells me you know he is above the fray.
Now let get this clear your upset with John having an 82% attendance during a time when he was Mayor of Lewiston(Attendance 100%), Senator, and employee at Unium? Yet it is ok for you to miss votes because you were on a family vacation. You take the vacation knowing it will affect your work, not vice versa. HMMMM!
As far as the you don't know me comment refer to what I said to Mr. Stone about the very same thing.
I have already fully disclosed my relationship with Mr.Jenkins. Might I ask why you think the Sun Journal did not do their homework as far as looking in to the friendship I have with John Jenkins. I have not been paid, I will not be paid, I have no desire of political office of any kind.
I have not nor will I ever loan or give any money to the Jenkins Campaign.
If you feel I was throwing stones at you I apologize. You are clearly an impressive person if three different people approached you to run for the house in the last year. With a mandate like that I am surprised you didn't start your write-in campaign. Call me if you need any help.

No hiding your affiliations there. Regardless I will answer your question as best as I can.
First off I will refer you to the public record at the State House for the exact numbers because somehow I doubt you are going to take my word for it.
I would ask you to take a look at the attendance records of the Senate leadership during the same period.
I think you will find John’s attendance to be the same if not better than the leadership of the senate.
You seem to be the only one questioning John Jenkins attendance. The Sun Journal has several stories regarding your question. Below is an excerpt of one of them.
Gilbert said past Lewiston mayors have maintained full-time jobs while serving the city without it being a problem. He pointed to former Lewiston Mayor John Jenkins, who also served as a state senator, as a recent example of someone who successfully juggled their time between Lewiston and Augusta.
http://www.sunjournal.com/node/234576
As addressed in the #1 issue of Lewiston Auburn Magazine. {I paraphrased below}
John had just won his second term as Lewiston mayor. Less than one year in to his second term, he was approached by local and state democrats to seek the vacant senate seat. He ran and won to serve simultaneously as Lewiston Mayor and State Senator. At the beginning of his second term of his two year term John was hired by Unum Insurance company as their Director of Multicultural marketing and Business Development, which required national travel on behalf of the company. John Jenkins requested to resign the position and was faced with strong opposition because his vote was needed.
So Bob Whocares if you would be so kind to share your findings that would be awesome.

examine the relationship between Jenkins and Benedict
Dear Mr. Stone,
You said “The Sun-Journal should closely examine the relationship between Jenkins and Benedict before writing editorials. They might be surprised.”
Seeing how you are the Manager of Business & Government Services at a Maine Community Bank, is there a relationship you have with one of the other candidates that you should tell us about? Would we be surprised? Maybe we need to see why you are throwing mud.
If you and the Maine Community Bank think the only people who should be in public office are the people who have a million dollars to loan to their own campaign, then you and Maine Community Bank are part of the current problem in government today.
If you want to question my honor and integrity my phone rings 24 hours a day—as of yet, you have not called me. I look forward to your call, Mr. Stone.
