It always touches my heart to see very young people fishing. It is such a fun, therapeutic way to spend ones free time. I lived in Maine for over 25 years and now I am just outside of Tampa. I retire in 9 years and then I will be back in Maine fishin in Lake Auburn just like the adorable lucky little girl in the picture. Its hard to beat fishin Lake Auburn in May.
My condolences go to the whole family. I was fortunate to have met Mrs. Bertrand over 25 years ago thru her daughter Diane. She was such a witty lady.I am very sorry for the familys loss.
What an idiotic way to lose a championship game!Who in thier right mind goes for it when youve got fourth and one within spittiin distance of your own goal line AND youve got the lead? Take the safety and punt it away then let your D do thier job. Its a heckuva lot tougher to drive at least 40 yards than it is to go less than 10. County has been a "good" coach but he stole the championship memories from these kids who played thier hearts out all season.
I worked in Jay for 21 years and have seen the posters on hundreds of utility poles which were undoubtedly attached by Mr. Moreau. I always wished I could help this father in his undying effort to recover his daughters remains. I truly hope the "ghost hunters" come up with something tangible, but I doubt it.Having spent many spring run-offs working on the hydro plants on the Andro I have experienced the tremendous flow and volume of the "freshen".Some years it is amazing.I am glad that the search is focusing upriver of the Verso papermill, otherwise they would have to don HAZMAT suits to protect themselves, and it is getting hot out.
I certainly hope Lewiston doesnt get any more of those money-sucking,welfare grabbing Blackhawk down worthless excuses of humanity. My wife and I lived and worked in Maine for 26 years,16 of them in Lewiston. Paying taxes of course was not an option. Now I have relocated out of state but my presently unemployed son remains in Lewiston. He is in need of some major medical work but the state refuses to give him any aid whatsoever. I guess I should have christened him muhammed at birth, then the state would bend over backwards to give him food, shelter and medical care.
From the looks of these comments I think the solution to what needs to be done with this building/land is obvious, build a learning center to enable Lewistonians how to spell the simplest words correctly.
