I am not offended in the least by this, nor do I think it should be a priority. But, I wasn't elected, he was, and this will be another thing to consider when voting next election. I doubt that this will be a big factor.

is cheap. If Mr King had said "that I pay an extra 20% in income taxes just because I believe in the government efficiency", then thats one thing. Saying he (and others like him) "should", is just hype.

This isn't a Republican/Democrat thing...this is a Capitalism thing. The private sector is not taking money away from the goverment, its the other way around. Well, unless of course you are in a large union and needed a bailout - but thats a whole different topic. So do you call all the union members that got a bailout of their pensions, fat cats?

what their total income is??? If they earned it legally, its THEIR money!!! I don't care what "their" income is...if I want more income, then I have the right and freedom to make it happen.

Are you suggesting there should be some sort of personal income or wealth limit? If so, who decides that limit? The President? Congress? You?

Our Constitution says we all have a right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness( which at the time of its writing meant PROSPERITY - look it up ) It mentions NOTHING about "limiting" Prosperity. Thats a "progressive/liberal" mindset(aka spreading the wealth) - which the facts show doesn't produce the intended effect.

The "meaningless' facts - as you say - show the direct impact of what happens when the rich are more heavily taxed. Their percentage-wise contribution drops. Hmmm...and guess whos percentage-wise contribution has to rise???

So again, if MR King is THAT upset about being unfairly undertaxed - then write a check to the IRS. My take is he was playing to the union crowd.(which they need lately, because I haven't been hearing a whole lot of non-union public support for them)

In 1980, the top income tax rate was 70%, the richest 1% only paid 19% of all income taxes, so with the current "lower rate" they actually contribute more!

Mr King(and any other rich people), what is stopping you from paying 50%? Knock yourself out...I am sure the government will use that money so much more wisely.

More of the "new civility". Not quite Russia Mr Breton, although with all the "CZARs" of the current president, there sure seems like a massive push to socialism here.

I don't see why anyone should have an issue with this. A vast majority of adults have photo id already, so having to show it when you vote doesn't seem like such an imposition. I have to provide ID to buy Advil Cold & Sinus for crying out loud, and that is far less important than voting. Going to your town office or wherever to verify who you are isn't a big deal, and procedures can be in place for shut-ins,etc. Obviously, every legal citizen of the state should and has to be allowed to vote.

Voter fraud is is a big deal nationwide(ACORN anyone) - do you seriously think it doesn't happen here? If it did, wouldn't you want to insure its kept to a minimum? I would personally drive anyone that asked in my local area ( R, D, or I ) that needs it to get an ID.

The founders ARE spinning in their graves, but not because of this issue.

Didn't take long at all, and there are certainly many more references like that throughout our history. Thats the weakest response you've written so far. America wins, then in order to get in the good graces only use those references to suck up to the king? I think thats a stretch.

And yes, a fetus is a bunch of HUMAN cells. Thanks for coming around. My point is that abortion supporters would rather use "cells" instead of baby or human.

The facts stated in my "dubious" source will stand for themselves for those that want to look into it.

Human's can contain cancer cells, true enough. Keyword is they are still HUMAN. The point was that abortion supporters just don't like calling it what it is.

The founders believed in Freedom of Religion, in that the Government would not dictate what someone's religion would be. Which is a big reason why they left England. Obviously, they aren't going to come here and start a country by stating in order to be American you need to be a Christian.

I think the opening of the Treaty of Paris is a pretty good endorsement of what the founders thought:

The founder's belief in God is readily available. They knew that only Divine Providence would make this work.

I would certainly hope women aren't flippant. Uninformed or misled by abortion providers into thinking its no big deal, and everything will be ok? Absolutely. These clinics are init for the $$$, they could care less about these women. I would rather them put the child up for adoption - that just seems like such a better solution for the baby, don't you think?

Why is it abortion supporters always like to de-humanize unborn babies?( "a ball of cells" ) Lets at least be honest. Abortion allows mothers to legally kill their babies.

Having conviction about something doesn't make one militant. I know unequivocally that abortion is morally wrong( "Thou shalt not kill" ). This from the same source as our inalienable rights - our Creator.

As a Christian, I believe abortion is the ultimate slap in God's face, and those people performing them will answer for their actions.(As we all will)

For anyone considering having an abortion, don't rush it and do your research. There are alternatives - adoption, tell your parents, etc. Get the facts and truly understand what you are considering.
