Just a point of clarification... The University of Maine System accepts 100-level or higher credits from The Maine Community College System programs if they are earned with a grade of C- or better. Some of the credits may be applied as "general elective" credits, some may be applied as "core" course equivalents, and some may be applied to "major, or major elective" requirements. It is wise indeed, for any community college students who are contemplating a transfer to a university of Maine system program, to work closely with an advisor from EACH college, for maximum transferablity of course work.
Personally, I find seat belts to be uncomfortable and restrictive. Could be because the seat belt chafes against my neck no matter how I adjust it. I still think seat belt use should be a personal choice and though I dislike them, because of the law, I wear one.
You are right, tristanc, the scholarships that Cavalier Bingo awarded this year were in total, $15,000! I am pleased and proud to say that my granddaughter was a recipient of one of those 30, $500.00, scholarships! Over the past 15 years, while a volunteer with AWAP, I also have personally delivered to AWAP, from the Cavalier Bingo, several, separate donation checks, ranging from $300.00 to $500.00. The good deeds that Dick and Linda, through the Cavalier Bingo do for the community, are numerous! The facts spaek for themselves...
Cavalier Bingo is the best Bingo around, and it is thanks to Dick, Linda, and the wonderful crew they have. This organization provides more in charitable donations to non-profits (Hope Haven, YWCA, AWAP, ASPCA, Tri-County, Sports Scholarships, to name a few) in the Lewiston-Auburn area and surrounding towns, than any other Bingo organization I know of. Not only does the Cavalier Club Bingo help the community, they also give back to their patrons in the form of amazing prizes on their 50/50 raffles, penny prize drawings, special cookouts for a low cost, and many other incentives and special Bingo events throughout the year, and around holidays. Maybe we don't know all the details, but it appears to me that the "state" is out to put this Bingo out of business. I wish Dick, Linda, and their crew all the best as they work their way through this injustice. I have known these people for MANY years, and they are the best...
