I went to Nateva and i had a really fun time. The bands were very entertaining. I espicially liked the Drive By truckers, Ghostland Observatory,the flaming Lips, also Derek Trucks was as you could imagine. Now I am sixty one and I have been to more shows than most and i found this Event to be well organised and did not see anyone misbehaving. If anything I saw young folks acting respectful and sincerely delighted that they had such a Wonderful location to enjoy themselves.

I will be attending on Saturday afternoon. I was able to get a free ticket and pass to see the Drive BY truckers. I also witnessed the Dead and Little Feat in 1988 and two weeks before that I saw the Monsters of Rock show featuring Metallica,Scorpians, Kingdom Come and Dokken,and of course Van halen with ammy. I also had an all access backstage pass for that show and I had great access to all the Bands and for any who recall that Concert it was btutally Hot & Humid that day and later on in the afternoon. The Heavens opened up and it rained and rained and eventually Scorpians and later Van Halen were nearly prevented from taking the Stage. I understand that this show is much better organized than 1988 and so it will be fun and the Music will be great.

I think that this Proposed Bill makes great Sense. Why should Mainers foot the Bill for someone who places them selves at risk by Smoking? only to take advantage of Maine care or other health care programs. way to go Tom Governor King attempted this at one time and there was not enought support. Judging from what I witnessed watching the Auburn City Councilors in Action tuesday night. One thing is for Certain .Councilor Herrick and Councilor Ferral really like to play both ends in the Middle. Now is that a fair statement? well to me it is. Having lived In Auburn for many years and eventually residing elsewhere I have had the opportunity to observe just what this current council is up to and to me the Time for Regime change is Long over due. To me it's as though the 'Barbarians are at the Gates of the City'. It is Glaringly obvious that Common Sense has completely disappeared only to be replaced with a 'Gang of Four Councilors' who have systematicly held the greater interests of the Community hostage.
Their short sighted and Self absorbed agenda is Stunting common discourse in Auburn. Does this Council and Current Ciy manager understand how serious things are in America and Augusta? Are they prepared to handle the kind of changes that will affect Auburn?
I would suggesst that former 'Mayors and local Business Men & Women' take an active role and put an end to the Madness that has eveloped Auburn.I would advocate the forming of an 'Ad Hoc Committie Made up of Former Elected officals and Educators and members of the legal system to establish a buffer between the Current Council and City manager.
I also feel that City Manager Glen Aho has demonstrated a shift in priorities , he appears to have been Seduced by the 'Dark Side of the Council. One has to question who does he serve? Yes 'Mr Aho' in Life we all have to serve someone so who are you serving?
Over the Years I like many of you have seen a gradual change in the Core values of those representing the City on the Council For many years it seemed that only certain candidates were elected and eventually the Pendulum has shifted.

I went to Nateva and i had a really fun time. The bands were very entertaining. I espicially liked the Drive By truckers, Ghostland Observatory,the flaming Lips, also Derek Trucks was as you could imagine. Now I am sixty one and I have been to more shows than most and i found this Event to be well organised and did not see anyone misbehaving. If anything I saw young folks acting respectful and sincerely delighted that they had such a Wonderful location to enjoy themselves.
I can really see why a Casino would work in Oxford. it is simple. You have Friendly Kind residents a nice area with comfortable settings and clean air.

I will be attending on Saturday afternoon. I was able to get a free ticket and pass to see the Drive BY truckers. I also witnessed the Dead and Little Feat in 1988 and two weeks before that I saw the Monsters of Rock show featuring Metallica,Scorpians, Kingdom Come and Dokken,and of course Van halen with ammy. I also had an all access backstage pass for that show and I had great access to all the Bands and for any who recall that Concert it was btutally Hot & Humid that day and later on in the afternoon. The Heavens opened up and it rained and rained and eventually Scorpians and later Van Halen were nearly prevented from taking the Stage. I understand that this show is much better organized than 1988 and so it will be fun and the Music will be great.

Times are very Tight and I cannot imagine how any real serious effort could happen to meet the growing Needs of the 'Rumford Public Library' But This Much I can tell you the 'Librarian Carl' and his Staff including Reference Librarian 'Claudia Reynolds' are Fine,dedicated professionals who truly desverve a Building that (1) Allows them to Do thier Job right (2) the Residents of Rumford & the River Valley deserve the right to visit a Library that his able to offer the Type of Services that are currently offered in Rumford .

I have been thinking about a remark that you made regarding mayor Gleason and his lack of knowledge about a particular aspect of the Budget. Surely Norm you must be aware of the fact the the Mayor is the person who Acts as a Moderator and in some case when the opportuniy comes up he or she which ever is the Case casts a tie breaking vote.
I am not aware that the Mayor needs to understand the 'Nut & Bolt's of the Budget. That is why Auburn has a City manager and in this case seven very good and informed City Councilors. Now in an earlier Post you referred to the Mayor as a 'Nincompoop' we all know that is not the Truth. Norm you owe 'Mayor Gleason' an 'Apology' I say that because when you particapate on this Blogg you should make an attempt to be 'Civil' and conduct your self as a 'Gentlemen' and not an 'Idiot' and only an 'Idiot' would call a successful 'Man who has great respect not only in the Twin Cities but through Oxford County such a degrading Name.

If the Residents decide to keep the Police department in Bethel .I wouls hope that every effort would be made to retain 'LT Shane White as the 'Chief' of Police. Shane has demonstrated time and time again that He is the right Guy for the Job.Lt White is probally the hardest workign Policeman Bethel has ever had. His work ethic and his understanding of what it means to provide Leadership and Job Dedication have been unrivaled.

Tough times in Auburn
Lets face it these are some serioustimes facing Auburn, For way to long the Sense of almost 'God' Given entitlement' has prevailed in Auburn. Now it seems as though the 'peasents are at the Gates Clutching Their Pitichforks demanding a place at the Table' righfully so. To Me I cannot help wonder who is driving some of these Councilors? .By that It seems that Councilor Farrell has a Silent partner behind him pulling his Strings. Ray Berube spends way to much time in the Councilor's office .
However it would seem that there are some ways that could be accomplished to reduce even more. In many ways the behavior and Actions of the City manager & City Councilor's are a great example of how the Democratic process should work. Auburn has been blessed with a very Sharp Mayor and at times even he has reached his Breaking Point by the behavior of a somewhat Blind sided City manager and a very Agenda Driven Councilor in Mike Farrell. But over all e as a Nation are facing far more Tougher times than many really understand. This is not a Cycle that will readjust itself over time. That is the misinformation that has seduced many who cannot truly comprehend the sheer magnitude of the crisis.
