"In the 2009 report, the MMA noted that the confidentiality of landowners’ forestry plans makes it difficult for local officials to determine whether landowners are honoring the terms of their agreements with the Forest Service." I'm fairly certain foresters are required to submit a copy of the plan to the town, so I'm not sure how the MMA can claim that these plans are confidential.
If Mr. Hines has so much free time on his hands to make all these requests, then criticize these organizations, why doesn't he volunteer some of his free time and "expertise" to help them out? If he wants everything readily available and online, maybe he could volunteer to scan all the documents and create PDF documents to be posted online. He would be helping the organizations (who run on skeleton crews and tight budgets) as well as the public. It's easy to point fingers and complain, how about helping to solve this problem Mr. Hines?
All comments about SJ aside, this could have turned out much worse! I'm glad no one was critically injured. I can't imagine how scary it must have been for everyone there. Kudos to all those involved in the rescue.
