I would like to see the dam rebuilt if its falling apart as long as they have a fish way for the fish to get through the dam and get upstream when needed to lay its eggs.
If the dam produces electricity, then rebuild it, but make sure the fish can get through the dam with a fishway.
I would not want to have a Council member or a Mayor to give the City a bad reputation and in trouble with the law and/or attacking children which are only 10 years old.
The City should not allow anyone like that to even be on the Council or even run for Mayor or any City position.
I wouldn't even support anyone like that.
I hope he spends 30 days or more in jail for even touching a child like he did.
They thought of everyone but the right one.
The one that built the bridge in the first place is the Central Maine Railroad used the bridges to get to the station and when the park was filled with railroad tracks for the railroad daays of passenger service.
The tracks still remain under the walkway at the park in auburn and along the trail that goes under the street in Auburn and towards the Washington street area.
I can support more building inspectors for Lewiston as I have seen how bad looking most of them are and those that have been condemned and the landlord's haven't done anything to the building should be torn down or the city takes the building and fixes them up and sell the units to low income buyers and let the owners of each unit maintain the building.
There are a lot of buildings around Lewiston that needs to be cleaned up property wise and also the building needs to be fixed up so it doesn't make the area look bad and affect the other buildings that have been fixed up so it doesn't bring down the value of the other builds in the area.
Some owners that fix up their buildings do it to bring up the value as an investment, but there are those landlords that simply wants to collect rents and not fix up the building until they are just used up.
You can go around town and its easy to see what buildings owners care about and the ones that just suck the life from the building until its unsafe to live in.
If I was an inspector, I would help volunteer my time to help the city get an idea on how bad the problem really is so the city could decide what to do about the problem.
I see they talk about banning smoking in clubs, but they law that I have heard so much about which says smoking in public places is banned, but I noticed people are still smoking in public places such as sidewalks. Sidewalks are public places and they don't seem to care, but they stop public from smoking in places to eat, bars and other places. I would like to see the law stop the smokers from smoking while on sidewalks as I don't like the smell of the smoke I breath in when I go by them and I have breathing problems as it is.

That's my opinion of it.
