I really hope this goes through. I can not imagine how scared she was, and people with such a violent history really need supervised and incarceration for help/keep them from doing things like this.
I wonder if those are the same two guys my husband and I saw run out of Lowes in Auburn the other month one evening that stole two boxed prebuilt chainsaws. They looked about our age, which these two guys are. We couldn't do anything to stop them, and the store was rather vacant at the time so no one else was in the parking lot to be able to catch them.
It is upsetting in the way this story was written not having given respect of those that have passed. It is informational in how hunters help find those that are missing, but it was more of a fluff piece than showing some respect to those whose bodies that had been found (how the person died is for sensationalism than necessary facts).
Are you kidding me?! Unbelievable. When will this "convenience" mentality end when it comes to recycling in this area??? It sickens me to think that it is always one of the first things to go when times get tough in this area. Recycling has been mainstream in other states (CT, etc) for over 10 years now. Why are we still waffling? Small towns in CT the size of Minot have successful programs. Why can't the 2nd largest city in Maine handle such a task?
The pay per bag route is one of the only methods that will push people towards recycling. Single sort is truly an ideal method.
And right now the Auburn facility does not have enough dumpster space in order for more individuals to come and bring their recycling to sort themselves.
Why is it that Auburn can not follow in the steps of their neighbors in single sort/something successful that will not be axed everytime money comes up short?

The Turner restaurant was the better of the two: the service and quality of food.
There was always a good # of folks that would go there on a regular basis, and our local snowmobile club would have a club dinner there every year.
Heard it was more about family issues than cost to keep the place going.
Seemed to shut down quite abruptly for a usual going out of business situation.
Their lobster stew will be missed.

Is it not a possibility to go
Is it not a possibility to go in on single sort with Lewiston for the long run?
Is the sole intent for recycling a means to make a profit for the city? Or is an environmental factor at least a priority motivator?
That is great news to hear!
