TOPSHAM — Junior Brandon Campbell had a stellar mound performance, pitching a no-hitter through eight innings as Oxford Hills subdued Mt. Ararat 2-0 in KVAC baseball action Monday.
The Vikings (4-2) finally got to pitcher Torrey Charnock in the top of the eight inning when Ben Bowie earned a walk, and Dylan Cox roped a triple to bring him home.
Campbell collected 10 strikeouts and gave up just three walks in the outing.
St. Dom’s 11, Lisbon 5
LISBON — Sophomore right fielder Will Desmarais crushed a bases clearing triple in the sixth inning to push St. Dom’s to an 11-5 victory over Lisbon in MVC baseball action Monday afternoon.
Derick Lycette produced a key two-run single in the home half of the first inning as the Greyhounds (0-3) put four runs on the board and took a 4-1 lead.
The Saints (3-0) trailed from that point until their six-run sixth inning. Alex Parker, who was one of five pitchers in a combined effort, plated a pair of insurance runs with a single in the seventh inning for St. Dom’s.
Georges Valley 10
THOMASTON — Senior first baseman Roger Bachelder clubbed a two-run home run in the first inning for the Mustangs as Monmouth produced two big innings for a 12-10 victory over Georges Valley in MVC baseball action Monday.
The Mustangs (4-0) put five runs on the board in the first inning, and D.J. McHugh had a two-run single in a six-run fourth inning for Monmouth.
Starting pitcher Sam Tarbox tried to help his own cause with a two-run double in the third as the Buccaneers (1-2) scratched for runs throughout, but came up short in the end.
Yarmouth 13, Poland 3
YARMOUTH — Senior Aidan Sullivan struck out six and gave up only four hits as Yarmouth cruised to a 13-3 victory over Poland in WMC baseball action Monday.
Connor King put the Knights (1-5) on the board first with an RBI producing double in the top of the first inning.
Luke Pierce notched a two-run double in the second inning for the Clippers (4-0), and Sullivan helped his pitching cause with a two-run triple in the fourth as Yarmouth took a 9-1 lead into the fifth.
Lincoln Academy 4,
Oak Hill 3
WALES — Brandon Riley struck out 20 batters, allowing just three hits in nine innings as Lincoln Academy slips past Oak Hill 4-3 in a class B KVAC baseball clash.
Matt Wotton led off the ninth inning with his second single of the game. After a steal and a sacrifice, Derrick Leeman singled in Wotton for the game-winning run.
Oak Hill’s Josh Martin pitched six innings surrendering only three runs while striking out eight.
Ben Dyer fanned six while taking the loss pitching the last three innings for the Raiders (3-2).
Mt. Blue 5, Skowhegan 0
FARMINGTON — Jimmy Neal struck out nine giving up only three hits firing a complete game shut out as Mt. Blue downed Skowhegan 5-0 in KVAC baseball action.
With the game scoreless, Mt. Blue took advantage of a Skowhegan pitching change plating all five runs. The Cougars (3-2) cashed in on three walks and a pair of singles including a two-run single by Nick Hilton.
Livermore Falls 15, Madison 2
MADISON — Bryan Maurais struck out 13 while tossing a two-hit complete game and got plenty of offensive support as Livermore Falls topped Madison, 15-2, in MVC baseball action.
Hunter Brett led the Andies’ 15-hit attack with three hits, including a double. Ben Keen and Brandon Hodges added two hits and a double each for Livermore Falls (1-3).
Cony 7, Lewiston 6
AUGUSTA — Cony scored four runs — three unearned — in the bottom of the first inning and held off a late Lewiston rally as the Rams handed the Blue Devils their first loss of the season, 7-6.
Ben Wigant led Lewiston (4-1) with a pair of hits, including a double, and catcher Mekae Hyde blasted a home run. Corbin Hyde and Jeff Keens combined for seven strikeouts and only three walks in the loss.
Zac Lachance earned the win in relief of Luke Duncklee for the Rams (2-3).
Ryan Edwards had the lone extra-base hit for Cony, a double.
Hebron 13, Hyde 6
HEBRON — Shane Hearn tabulated four goals to lead Hebron to a 13-6 victory over Hyde in boys’ lacrosse action Monday afternoon.
The Lumberjacks struck hard in the first quarter with five goals and led 7-2 at the half. Kyle Bernier, Zack Nauert and Josh Brodeur contributed two goals each for Hebron.
Zach Day was the leading scorer for the Pheonix in the losing effort.
Mt. Blue 12,
Edward Little 9
AUBURN — Trailing 9-7 at the half, Mt. Blue scored five unanswered goals in the second half to down Edward Little 12-9 in boys’ lacrosse action.
Griffen Conlogue tallied four goals and a pair of assists while Matt Davis notched three goals and assisted on three more. Goalie Tyler Poulin turned away 11 Red Eddies (0-4) shots earning the victory for Mt. Blue (2-2).
Matt Berbue stopped 40 shots in the loss. Mt. Blue outshot Edward Little 52-20.
Mitchell Adams and Cody Meserve each tallied three goals in the loss.
