SOUTH PARIS – Oxford Hills scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 6-4 victory over Leavitt in a KVAC baseball tilt Monday.
In the sixth Russell Estes singled in Dan Millett for the game-tying run, later that inning, Ryan Yates broke a 4-4 tie with a two-run double that scored Estes and Chris Jennings. Estes finished with two hits for the Vikings (6-4). Tyler Angell had two hits, including a two-run single for Leavitt (1-9).
Dirigo 5, Telstar 4
DIXFIELD – Gary Holman crossed home plate in the bottom of the ninth after Rebel hurler Randy Cross hit a batter with the bases loaded to provide the winning run in Dirigo’s 5-4 victory over Telstar.
Holman was also the pitcher of record, coming on in relief in the sixth inning to pick up the victory for the Cougars (8-1). Cross pitched all seven innings for Telstar (4-4), but hit the final two batters he faced to take the loss. Nate Walker had two hits for the Rebels.
Maranacook 10, Waterville 0
READFIELD – Wil Bardaglio hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning, one of the offensive highlights in Maranacook’s 10-0 victory over Waterville.
Justin Denbow pitched four innings for the victory for the Black Bears (8-2), combining with reliever Travis Harwood on a one-hitter. Denbow also added a pair of hits and two RBIs at the plate.
Monmouth 10, Boothbay 0
MONMOUTH – Eric Smith smacked four hits, including two doubles, and knocked in three runs as Monmouth blanked Boothbay 10-0.
Scott Ogden fanned six and walked none in a complete-game, two-hit effort for the Mustangs (5-2). Ronnie Hobson brought home two runs with a bases-loaded single in the second inning, and Cameron Saucier added two RBIs in the inning.
Mt. Blue 7, Morse 2
FARMINGTON – John Moloney and Steve Wells each had three hits to propel Mt. Blue to a 7-2 victory over visiting Morse in a KVAC baseball tilt.
The Cougars (5-5) scored four run in the bottom of the sixth to blow open a 3-1 game and limited a seventh-inning rally by the Shipbuilders to just one run. Moloney and Wells had two RBIs each, and Justin Lowe hit an RBI double for Mt. Blue. Adam Gilbert pitched six innings for the win.
Oak Hill 11, Mt. View 5
WALES – Junior pitcher Josh Jillson fanned 11, while helping his cause from the plate with a double and home run as Oak Hill cruised to an 11-5 win over Mt. View in baseball action Monday.
Senior Brian Bisson came on in relief to earn his third save of the season for the Raiders (5-4), while producing four RBIs on a pair of doubles. Senior Justin Plourde chipped in with three RBIs . Senior Ross Curry contributed a double and triple for the Mustangs (4-5).
Winthrop 10, Hall-Dale 2
WINTHROP – Rusty Schmelzer had a busy night on offense, going 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and scoring three runs in Winthrop’s 10-2 victory over Hall-Dale in MVC baseball.
Schmelzer also swiped a pair of bags for the Ramblers (5-2). Travis Frautten also had three hits, and David Ricker had two hits and two RBIs. Forrest Dwyer (2-1) pitched four innings to earn the victory.
Troy Cummings had two hits for the Bulldogs (3-5), including a double..
Mt. Ararat 7, Lewiston 3
TOPSHAM – Joe Condon had two hits and four RBIs to lead Mt. Ararat to a 7-3 victory over Lewiston in KVAC baseball action.
Brandon Wyman went the distance had 10 strikeouts and scattered 10 walks and four hits for only three runs to grab the win for Mt. Ararat (7-3).
Erik Waite had two hits, including a double for the Blue Devils (4-6). Lewiston left 10 men on base in the loss.
Hebron 15, Pine Tree 3
WEST PARIS – Pitcher Calvin Tweedie struck out eight batters as Hebron routed Pine Tree Academy 15-3 in baseball action Monday.
Mike Turk and Will Sorkin led the offensive effort for the Lumberjacks (5-5). Turk went 2-for-2, with three RBIs, while Sorkin went 1-for-2, scoring three runs and notching a pair of RBIs. Tweedie earned his first win of the year, pitching four innings, allowing three hits and three runs.
Ben Goodall had a home run for Pine Tree Academy (1-7).
Falmouth 19, St. Dom’s 7
AUBURN – Falmouth defeated St. Dominic’s 19-7 in the rain on Monday in a boys’ lacrosse matchup.
