'Village' Christmas in Casco first weekend of December


CASCO — A “Village” Christmas will take place first weekend of December. Events will kick off with the tree lighting on the village green at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, with the Lake Region High School Band and Chorus and the Mayberry Hill Preschool children taking part.

There will be children’s activities after at the Community Center with cookie-decorating, ornament-making and a visit from Santa.

The Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, 941 Meadow Road, Route 121, invites everyone to the annual Christmas in the Village Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.

There will be vendors, wreaths, music, food, raffles and shopping. And the lobster roll/corn chowder luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Also on Saturday, the Casco Public Library will be open with special hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by for stories and pictures with Santa from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 3, is the first Sunday of Advent and the Casco Village Church UCC will have a special worship service at 10 a.m. with the “Hanging of the Greens” by the Sunday school children.
