NEW LONDON, Conn. — The following local students have achieved dean’s honors, a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.65, or dean’s high honors, a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.77, for the 2013 fall semester at Connecticut College.

CLARION, Pa. — Jessica Prosper of Gray graduated from Clarion University with a library science MSL degree during Dec. 14 commencement.

JOHNSON, Vt. — Megan Cavanaugh of Denmark, a freshman, has been named to the dean’s list at Johnson State College for the fall 2013 semester.

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Daniel E. Gantz of Auburn, Edward Little High School class of 2012, made the dean’s list at Bridgewater State University. Dan is studying aviation science. He and his family have been invited to attend Dinner with the Dean to celebrate his success on Feb. 12.

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. — Brooke Dolloff of Dixfield was named to the president’s list at Lyndon State College for the fall 2013 semester. Brooke is a freshman majoring in design.

NEW LONDON, N.H. — Amanda Kimball of Gray successfully completed Colby-Sawyer College’s internship requirement at Colby-Sawyer College Exercise and Sport Sciences Department. A exercise science major, Kimball is a member of the class of 2014.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Area students named to the American International College fall 2013 dean’s list include:

Elizabeth Moulton of Hiram, sophomore, is a health sciences major.

Emily Cormier of Mechanic Falls, freshman, is a health sciences major.

SELINSGROVE, Pa.— Greta-Anne Castonguay of Turner served an internship with Center Street Dental at the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA over winter break. She is a sophomore majoring in biology at Susquehanna University.

Castonguay assisted in the planning and formation of a preventative care dental program at the YMCA’s child care facility. Through the course of the internship, she gained experience in the dental field.

Castonguay, a 2012 graduate of Leavitt Area High School, is the daughter of David and Gisele Castonguay.

LOWELL, Mass. — Nathan Blais of Leeds, majoring in exercise physiology, was named to the dean’s list at University of Massachusetts Lowell for the fall 2013 semester.

SEARCY, Ark. — Michelle Heroux, a Harding University senior from Harrison, is among more than 1,200 Harding students included on the dean’s list for grades achieved during the fall 2013 semester.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Susan Herrick of Auburn received a Master of Science in education from Wilkes University after the completion of the fall 2013 semester.

HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Zoe Jennifer Oswald of Auburn was named to Juniata College’s 2013 fall dean’s list. Oswald is the daughter of Dr. Kurt Oswald and Jennifer Oswald and a 2013 graduate of Merriconeag Waldorf School.

ONEONTA, N.Y. — The following area students have been named to the fall term dean’s list at Hartwick,

Sophmore Jennifer Foss of Livermore, daughter of Glen Foss and Sandra Foss. Foss is majoring in anthropology and art history.

First-year student Kim Morin of Lewiston, daughter of Paul and Denise Morin. Morin is majoring in biology.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Michael Weber was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester at Muhlenberg College.

Weber is a member of the class of 2015, is a chemistry major and a music minor from Auburn. He is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ware Weber and a graduate of Edward Little High School.

LEWISTON — Jedidiah Quint, the son of Dr. William C. Hiss and Ms. Colleen Quint of Minot, was named to the dean’s list at Bates College during the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year, a distinction earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.71 or higher.

Quint is a 2012 graduate of Poland Regional High School.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Emily Heggie of Fryeburg and Nika Faulkner of Auburn were among more than 1,000 students who made the president’s list in the fall 2013 semester at Pratt Institute.

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Blaine Cornish of New Gloucester, a sophomore majoring in film studies and production, has been named to the fall 2013 dean’s list at Hofstra University.

CASTLETON, Vt. — Reed Drechsel of Carrabassett Valley, Erin Luce of Kingfield and Tyler Sturtevant of Mechanic Falls were named to the Castleton College dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester.

KUTZTOWN, Pa. — Abbey Leigh Ellis of New Vineyard has been named to the fall 2013 dean’s list at Kutztown University.

CASTLETON, Vt. — Alexa Fryover of Jay has earned a spot on the Castleton College president’slList for the fall semester of the 2013-14 academic year.

ATLANTA — Jordan Conant of Winthrop earned the distinction of faculty honors for fall 2013 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 4.0 academic average for the semester.

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Jordan Richmond of Auburn, a sophomore majoring in marketing, has been named to the fall 2013 provost’s list, which requires a 4.0 grade point average.

LEWISTON — The following local Bates students received All-Academic honors from the New England Small College Athletic Conference for the fall 2013 season. The NESCAC All-Academic honor is awarded to Bates varsity letter winners who have reached sophomore academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35.

Zachary Abbott, the son of Elizabeth A. Flynn of Rangeley, is a member of the men’s golf team at Bates. A 2010 graduate of Rangeley Lakes Regional School in Rangeley, Abbott is majoring in environmental studies at Bates.

Chelsea Thompson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy J. Thompson of Farmington, is a member of the women’s soccer team at Bates. A 2010 graduate of Mount Blue High School in Farmington, Thompson is majoring in economics at Bates.

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. — Joshua Bunker of Leeds has been named to the UMass Dartmouth fall 2013 dean’s list in recognition of earning a semester grade point average of 3.2 or higher of a possible 4.0.
