Wellness day held


FARMINGTON – LEAP Inc. held a Wellness Day for supporters and employees on April 13 in the Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

The event focused on employee health, stress management and workplace injury prevention by providing tools, information and incentives that staff can use to improve their physical, emotional and financial well being.

Presenters included representatives from the Franklin-Somerset County Federal Credit Union, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, Healey Associates, the Healthy Community Coalition, MEMIC, Source 365 and the UMF Health and Fitness Center. All representatives donated their time to make the event a success.

The event was organized by Sherra Osgood, LEAP Inc. administrator, and Sou Hayes, University of Maine at Farmington intern, assisted by committee members Darlene Rowe, Darryl Wood and Megan Goodine. Turnout was strong, with nearly 70 percent of LEAP Inc.’s 130 employees attending.

LEAP Inc. is a Farmington-based private nonprofit agency, which has been providing community and residential supports for people with developmental disabilities in Western and Central Maine and their families since 1980.
