WEST PARIS — The Ring McKeen Post 151 American Legion and Auxiliary will sponsor a Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 31. Participants will line up at 10:30 a.m. on Maple Street and step off time will be at 11 a.m.
The grand marshal will be Mary Ann Perham Brown, chauffeured by Nancy Penley. The speaker will be Pastor Lloyd Waterhouse. The middle school band, under the direction of Mr. Spath, will provide music.
The parade will march to the center of town for the flag salute and Star Spangled Banner, then to the bridge for a prayer and gun salute, when flowers will decorate the water for deceased veterans.
The group will then march to the cemetery, where Waterhouse will pray and give the address. A gift will be presented to Brown, “In Flanders Field” will be read and the band will play.
The parade will then march to the Veterans’ Memorial Park for a prayer, decoration of the monuments and singing of “God Bless America.”
