The Oxford County community has been rallying behind 19-year-old James Day who is battling cancer for a second time.

To help with medical expenses, local businesses have been selling decals and his family created a collection site for bottles and cans.

Every week hundreds of people drop off items to recycle and family members bring them to a nearby redemption center.

Last week they started to notice their collection was getting smaller and they installed cameras to see what was going on.

In the video, deputies identified Dorf as the man loading more than $300 worth of cans into a white pickup.

The community has worked to make up for that loss.

Deputies say Dorf is expected to appear in court in November.
