Whatever you do, you need to audition


GARDINER – For the first time, the Whatever Week Talent Show on June 17 will require auditions.

Auditions are scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 8, and from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center, 280 Water St. All ages and all talents welcome. A limited number of acts will be chosen to perform

Four prizes will be awarded at the show: grand prize $250; adult (21 and up) $100; young adult (16-21) $100; youth (15 and under) $100.

All audition applicants should bring accompanying music, if required. Karaoke will not be allowed, so any CDs or tapes should have music without words. Audition pieces should be presented complete with costumes and/or props. Bands and other kinds of performances are also welcome. No one will be accepted into the talent show without an audition. Competitors must be amateurs. Audition applications are available at Johnson Hall, Gardiner Public Library, Gardiner Boys & Girls Club, and Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, Augusta.
