BUCKFIELD — William A. “Bill” Jordan, 72, of Buckfield, died Sunday, Dec. 21, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born in Auburn on July 13, 1942, a son of Alred and Josephine Foster Jordan, and was educated in Buckfield schools.
He previously worked at Wilner Wood Products in South Paris and Bessey’s Foods in Buckfield. Most recently, Bill worked for Springfield Terminal Railroad, from which he retired in 2001, after 38 years of employment.
Bill had bowled in a bowling league, where he also sold 50/50. He enjoyed playing beano and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the NRA and especially liked to go caribou hunting. Bill also recently started playing golf.
He lived in Buckfield all of his life and married Wanda Thompson in 1972.
Besides his wife, Bill is survived by three sons, Ricky Jordan and his wife, Lisa, of Hillsboro, N.H., David Jordan and his wife, Rose, of Livermore Falls and Paul Jordan of Buckfield; a stepson, Moe Libby and his wife, Jen, of Buckfield; a daughter, Cathy Giles and her husband, Rick, of Jay; two brothers, Michael and his wife, Betsy, of Hebron and James and his wife, April, of Buckfield; his sisters, Elaine Damon and her husband, Skip, of Buckfield and Alma Jordan and her companion, Tom Peer, of Buckfield; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Linda Jordan, of Harrison; and best friends, Gerald “Beetle” Bailey, Clyde and Paul DeCoster, Steve Wade, Chet Johnson and Reggie Greenleaf, and all of their wives.
He was predeceased by a son, Todd Jordan; and a brother, Arthur Jordan.
