FARMINGTON —A presentation on the Kibby Mountain Wind Power Project in Eustis will highlight and conclude the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District’s annual meeting on Friday. A TransCanada representative is expected to talk about the project and answer questions.
The evening begins with registration and a social gathering at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Mt. Blue High School and is followed by introductions at 6 p.m.
State Agricultural Commissioner Seth Bradstreet will report on current conditions within the Department of Agriculture, and Assistant State Conservationist Pauline Pare will speak on current U.S. Department of Agriculture programs.
Conservation awards will be presented including conservation logger and farmer of the year. Poster contest winners will also be given certificates and/or savings bonds and many District Earth Team volunteers will be honored for faithfully helping whenever they could.
The public is welcome to attend the annual meeting and presentation.
