WINDHAM — Windham High School’s competitive One Act team will present “The Spirit of Life: Hasidic Tales of the Holocaust” based on the book by Yaffa Eliach from Feb. 28 through March 2.

“The Spirit of Life” by Yaffa Eliach was adapted for the stage by David F. Eliet and draws on material from Yaffa Eliach’s book, “Hasidic Tales of The Holocaust.” This dramatic play uses some of these moving stories to relate the experiences of individuals, many of them young people, during the Shoah. “The Spirit of Life” examines some of the mechanisms of the Final Solution and tells of the hatred and prejudice that fueled this unthinkable event.

“The Spirit of Life” is Windham High School’s entry into the Maine Principals’ Association Drama Festival / One Act Competition and this fundraising public performance will help these 40 students visit and donate to the National Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.

“The Spirit of Life” at Windham High School is directed by Matthew Ryder. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28 and March 1; and at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 2.
