AUBURN — VIP Tires & Service announces that Timothy Winkeler has been promoted to president and chief operating officer. He has also been appointed to the company’s board of directors. In his new position, he will be responsible for overseeing all functions at VIP. John Quirk will assume the role of chairman and CEO.
After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with an industrial engineering degree, Winkeler began his career in the automotive aftermarket and went to work for Dana Corp. as an engineering manager. While working at Dana, he received his MBA from Oklahoma City University. He held several positions with Dana, eventually working his way up to plant manager overseeing the Oklahoma City WIX Filtration Manufacturing Plant.
Winkeler joined VIP in May 2010 as vice president of merchandising and was promoted to chief operating officer.
