Woman pleads not guilty to aiding jail escape

FARMINGTON – Angela Mae Taylor, 35, of Jay, pleaded not guilty to charges of aiding escape, violating conditions of release and trafficking in scheduled drugs Friday at her arraignment in Franklin County Superior Court.

Taylor was arrested Aug. 13 and accused of helping her brother, 25 year-old Daniel Marcus Jackson, of escaping from the Franklin County jail. Police say Jackson climbed over the razer-wire topped fence in the jail recreation yard and ran through the woods to Holley Road.

He jumped into a van police Taylor was driving, police said, and that was found abandoned the same day at the Jay Plaza with blood inside.

There were injuries to Marcus’ arms and legs when he was caught in Farmington Falls around 12 hours after leaving the jail, Sheriff’s Detective David St. Laurent said.
