State police are investigating the suspicious death of a Limington woman whose body was found Friday in the northern Oxford County town of Upton near the New Hampshire border.
Detectives had been looking for 30-year-old Kelly Winslow, who was reported missing from her home on Mike’s Way in Limington Thursday night, according to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland. State police had searched several locations during the day, including her home, he said.
The body was located midafternoon on property off Route 26, north of Grafton Notch State Park, McCausland said.
State Medical Examiner Dr. Margaret Greenwald arrived late Friday afternoon at the site and oversaw the removal of the body, which was later taken to her office in Augusta. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
Winslow had been reported missing by her husband, who was interviewed by detectives Friday and who police say has cooperated with the investigation, McCausland said.
