LIVERMORE FALLS — The 2014 General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) State President, Marjorie Goodwin, chose for her project elder abuse. She suggested that clubs find a way in their communities to support her project.

As a result, the GFWC/Livermore Falls Women’s Club decided to make 25 afghans for clients in the Jay/Livermore/Livermore Falls area who are served by Meals on Wheels.

The last of the afghans were delivered to Meals on Wheels on Feb. 15. Many in the club participated in the project, either by supplying the yarn, knitting squares or crocheting them together. Thanks go to Ruth Gammon, Muriel Bowerman, Madeleine Wininger, Connie Fournier, Betty Nicholas, Ghislaine Berube, Ellen Young, Peggy Stires, Christine Judd, Gail Slade, Marjorie Black, Barbara Letalien, Lucille Lavoie, Sue Sylvester and Frances Berry.

The monthly meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at the Harris House. The staff at Harris House will provide lunch. Members will hear from Diane Woods, LSW, and June Allen, activities coordinator.

After the meeting, members will tour the facility. For more information, contact Ellen at [email protected]
