BYRON – Local artist Olga Miller will exhibit her works from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 20, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 21, and from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at the Byron Historical Society Building, Coos Canyon, Route 17.
There will also be works by her father, Wladimir Wilgand, who immigrated to the U.S. from Russia after World War II. Miller, of Byron, is employed by Rumford Community Hospital.
GORHAM, N.H. – The centennial celebration of the 1907 Grand Trunk Railway Depot at 25 Railroad St. on Saturday, Aug. 11, will offer many interesting and fun things for the whole family throughout the day and evening.
As part of the celebration, there will be passenger train rides between Gorham and Berlin and between Gorham and the Maine line. Four excursion trips will be offered during the day at 9 and 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. The trips will originate at the Grand Trunk Station and alternate between Gorham to Berlin and Gorham to Maine.
The St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad Co. is supplying the power and crew to make the trips possible. Two passenger cars from Conway Scenic Railroad will be brought to Whitefield, then hauled from there to Groveton by the New Hampshire Central Railroad.
