Workshop will help parents with kindergarten transition

FARMINGTON — The Maine Parent Federation and the Franklin County Children’s Task Force will present “Transition to Kindergarten: A Natural Progression.” The workshop will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 29, at the Franklin County Children’s Task Force.

Changes and transitions affect everyone. A parent or child may feel overwhelmed by changes. For parents of children with disabilities and special needs, the transition from Child Development Services to public school may seem confusing and overwhelming.

At the workshop, parents will learn some of the changes to expect as a child moves from preschool to public school. Attendees will discover how to orchestrate the transition process and feel more comfortable with the changes that will take place.

A $20 stipend will be provided for parents who attend. Dinner and child care will be provided. Call Janice at 778-6960 for more information and to register.
