BUCKFIELD — Former Selectman Warren Wright won election to the board Wednesday with 79 votes.
Candidate William “Bill” Sullivan received 55, according to a town official.
Wright also won the assessor’s job with 78 votes; Sullivan had 55.
Wright succeeds Rodney Allen, who died in November. He won election in June 2011.
After his retirement from General Electric, Wright served as a selectman from 1995 to 1998, and has been a member of the Budget Committee and the Planning Board.
“I love this town,” he said earlier this month. “I want other people to come here and help us grow.”
He said he is concerned about the town budget in light of the need for a new or renovated fire and rescue building and the uncertainty of school finances.
Wright and his wife, Barbara, reside on Streaked Mountain.
