The answer to our future energy needs may lie right off our rockbound coast: the tides.
Using advanced gearing and hydraulic technologies, turbines need only to go the speed of those tides to produce cheap, endless electricity forever. Hooray! Not.
The problem lies on our rockbound coast. What do we see when we go to the ocean these days? Mostly the mansions of the wealthy. They would never allow a tidal power plant in their back yards.
That, in a nutshell, is the major problem facing America. Corruption and vested interests will bring the country down, not the desperate act of a few terrorists.
