NORWAY — OH Yoga! is a collaboration between three yoga teachers in the Oxford Hills area. Katey Hawes, Kathryn Gardner and Katey Branch will be teaching Vinyasa and therapeutic yoga classes at the Center for Movement and Meditation above the Books N Things bookstore on Main Street.
OH Yoga! will have an opening “taste testing” from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, when the public can meet the teachers and get a taste of the classes they will be offering. Those attending should wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat if they have one, or use one of the center’s.
All three teachers are longtime practitioners of yoga and have recently gotten their yoga teacher certification through the Shala Institute of Yoga in Bridgton.
Kathryn Gardner and Katey Branch are massage therapists focusing on Vinyasa Flow classes. Katey Hawes is a physical therapist and will be teaching Vinyasa Flow and Yoga Therapy.
People who practice yoga can gain physical strength and flexibility, mental focus and calm, emotional balance and ease.
There will be a variety of six-week classes at different times during the day and week. Classes will start the week of June 11; Mondays at 4:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m., Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 9 p.m. Vinyasa Flow classes will be offered. Classes will vary as each teacher has her own style.
The cost will be $60 for six classes or $13 for drop-ins.
