LEWISTON — Yvette (Florence) Marie (Boucher) Roy, 83, passed away peacefully April 25, at her residence of d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in Amesbury, Mass., Jan. 28, 1927, however resided most of her life in Lewiston with her husband of 59 years, Joseph Rosaire Adelard Roy, who passed away Feb. 28. She attended St. Peter’s Grammar school in Lewiston and worked as a shoe stitcher throughout her life.
She worked hard on her parents family farm, played the Hawaiian guitar, grew up to be a shoe stitcher among the infamous shoe factories of Lewiston and loved to sing and dance. She touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity and maintained her sense of humor all the way to the end.
She was one of 12 children born to the late Leo and Ernestine Boucher. She will forever be remembered by her devoted sisters, Monique and Loretta; her brother, Maurice; her beloved children, Robert Roy, Richard Roy and Daniel Roy; treasured grandchildren, Jason Roy, Cheryl Roy, Eric Roy, Michael Roy, Dawn Morong, Michelle Cole, Tracy Roy and Kim Roy; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Ava Cole, Liam and Keegan Morong and Chloe Roy; niece, Sandra; along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her.
