AUBURN — Yvette L. Chenard, 91, of Fair Street, Lewiston, died Monday, Dec. 4, at The Hospice House, with her loving family at her side.
She was born in Rumford on March 9, 1926, a daughter of the late Felix and Albertine (Brodeau) Blouin. She was educated in local schools and then started working in local shoe shops until retiring from Falcon Shoe.
Yvette married her true love, Raymond Chenard, at Saints Peter and Paul Church on Sept. 9, 1947. Raymond passed on Oct. 6, 2000. They spent 53 amazing years together.
Yvette was a member of Saints Peter and Paul and the Ladies of Ste. Anne. She enjoyed playing beano and cards with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling the world with her family, spending time at her camp on Worthley Pond. Her kind heart and infectious smile will be missed by all.
She is survived by her daughter, Florence Roy and her husband, Rejean “Sunny” of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Chris Roy of Lewiston and Sadie Grealish of Auburn; her four grandchildren, Jacob, Dylan, Camden and Gabrielle; a brother, Wilfred Blouin and wife, Peggy of Rumford; six sisters: Theresa Paradis of Lewiston, Noella Bean and husband, Richard of Florida, Priscilla DiConzo of S. Paris, Fern Patrie and husband, Gerard of Florida, Louise Nash of Dixfield and Doris Glines and husband, Jon of New Hampshire; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a great-grandson, Tyler Grealish; two brothers, Norman Blouin and Lionel Blouin; and two sisters, Cecile Landry and Yolanda Redmond.
