LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine will offer American Red Cross Lifeguard Training from 2:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 16 and 23, and Saturday, March 17 and 24.
This course teaches students the knowledge and skills essential to prevent and, if necessary, respond to aquatic emergencies appropriately. This course includes American Red Cross CPR/AED for professional rescuers and standard first aid.
Participants must be at least 15 years of age and complete a 300-yard swim and timed deep water object removal prerequisite to starting the course. The prerequisite tests will take place on the first day of classes.
Members of the YWCA pay $260 for the four-day session and nonmembers pay $285. Space is limited and registrations need to be in by March 9.
