YWCA summer camp will offer theme weeks


LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine is accepting applications for summer camp. The YWCA Summer Camp runs for 11 weeks, from June 14 to Aug. 27. Children can join for as little as one week or for the entirety of camp. The camp is for children ages 6 through 11. It will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Morning and afternoon extended care is also available.

Activities throughout camp will be based on the theme of the week and are as follows. Week of: June 14, Hello Summer; June 21, Olympics; June 28, inventors workshop; July 5, nature and the great outdoors; July 12, pirates; July 19, splish splash summer; July 26, monsters and ogres; Aug. 2, Maine; Aug. 9, carnivals; Aug. 16, wet ‘n wild; and Aug. 23, character week. Along with theme-based activities, the camp includes daily pool time and swim lessons.

Cost for YWCA members is $125 each week and $135 for nonmembers. TOPS funding is accepted from June 21 to Aug. 20. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no additional cost. There is a nonrefundable $15 deposit for each week of camp, which will be applied to camp costs. Deposit is due at time of registration.
