Ludden library adds sale books

DIXFIELD — Ludden Memorial Library on Main Street has recently added adult fiction, non-fiction, and large print books to the ongoing book sale in the lower level Community Room. This is a good time to choose a few books to have available for guests coming to visit for the holidays. Browse the sale and fill a bag. Price is by donation, which will be accepted at the library’s circulation desk. Funds raised by the sale are used to purchase new books for the library shelves.

Sno-Goers to meet Dec. 3

ANDOVER — Snow Valley Sno-Goers snowmobile club will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the clubhouse located off Route 5. A potluck supper will be followed by a business meeting. Small gifts are welcomed around our Christmas tree, which will be taken to the Andover Elementary School and given to students to allow them to choose and give presents to members of their families.

American Legion’s early bird supper

RUMFORD — Rumford Post 24 will have their Early Bird Supper at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4.

Supper will include spaghetti, chili, coleslaw, garlic bread, corn bread and dessert. There is no charge for all Legion members who paid their dues by Oct. 1. All others pay $5.

There will be a drawing for a free 2016 membership for legionnaires who paid their dues by Oct. 1 (must be present).

Hospital retirees luncheon on Dec. 5

Congo Church craft fair Dec. 6

DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Congregational Church will hold the annual Christmas Fair from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 6. A door prize of a $100 Visa card will be given.

To be eligible for the door prize, bring a food cupboard item or a coat for the “Coats For Kids Campaign.”

A brunch of quiche, fruit, homemade doughnuts, muffins, sweet breads, beverages and more will be available for $6. There will also be raffles, attic treasures, baked goods, candy, crafts, cookie walk, a men’s table with beans, crafts, pies and many other surprises made by the men of the church, and wreaths.

RAAPA Christmas show Dec 6, 7

RUMFORD — RAAPA will present two shows of “Christmas was Meant for Children,” a musical Christmas show complete with dancers, Santa and live nativity.

The first show will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, and the second at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, at Mountain Valley High School Muskie Auditorium.

Tickets are available from RAAPA members, Bartash, Port to Port, Log Cabin Craftworks, Larsens Electric and Mountain View Eyecare.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
