AUBURN — Dan Crohn, recent contestant on the NBC TV show “Last Comic Standing,” will headline Maine Event Comedy Friday, Sept. 25, at the Auburn Fireside Inn, 1777 Washington St.

The event will also feature performances by Phoebe Angle, Tim Hofmann and host Mark Turcotte.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

Crohn’s interest in stand-up comedy began as a child after hearing his father’s Henny Youngman records. Much of his material stems from interactions with family, friends and his years as a fourth-grade teacher. He’s worked with national headliners Nick DiPaolo, Greg Giraldo and Pauly Shore.

Among other notable venues, Crohn has performed at the Los Angeles Improv, Catch a Rising Star in Reno and New York City’s Gotham Comedy Club. He was a Boston Comedy Festival finalist and a guest on the top-ranked “WTF with Marc Maron” podcast. His jokes can be heard on Sirius XM Radio.

Angle is a comedian with more than just fantastic hair; she’s a crass, but charming Maine native now living in Boston. Angle was a comic in-residence at Boston’s famous Comedy Studio, a host and participant in the Women in Comedy Festival and monologue writer for The Steve Katsos Show. She’s performed in Toronto’s SheDot Festival, the Seattle International Comedy Competition and Indiana’s Limestone Comedy Festival.

Hofmann founded the Laugh Shack Comedy Club, which produces two weekly shows in Westbrook and Portland along with sever satellite locations throughout the state. He’s performed at Chicago’s WIP Theater, Comix at Foxwoods and is a weekly cartoonist for the Portland Phoenix.

Turcotte founded the Comedy Fix fundraising series and was a finalist in the Funniest Comic on the East Coast Contest at Mohegan Sun.

Tickets may be purchased at www.maineeventcomedy.com. Seating is general admission; doors open at 7 p.m. The show is for ages 21 and older.
