LEWISTON — The Pentecostal urban youth outreach, the Jesus Party, held its 16th annual Christmas party for 50 inner city children on Dec. 17.

The evening was filled with Christmas carols, an animated film on the true meaning of Christmas and a holiday buffet. Every child received a Christmas present to take home.

In weeks leading up to the party, children from the ministry were taken to the East Auburn Baptist Church for the annual “Christmas Spectacular,” the Pathway Vineyard Church for the Living Nativity that included cider, cookies and a hayride, and the South Lewiston Baptist Church for an evening of music, puppetry and a gospel presentation, “The Star of Christmas,” by Jeremiah 29:11 Ministries.

Ministry directors Doug and Sonia Taylor have also taken children out to view area Christmas light displays and have a cup of hot cocoa.
